    Spamilicious. ;) Reported.

Not sure that is spam. We use that website at work.
  • has anyone got one of those rubber wonderbroom thingies? I was thinking about getting one in order to cut down on hoovering so much and save a bit of leccy and wear and tear on the vac,but obviously if they're rubbish I don't want to waste my pennies :o At the moment I use a stiff bristle broom between vac days to keep the dog hair down a bit,but it casts a lot of dust and hair into the air so I thought this might be a bit gentler and easier too

We just went away for a few days, up north and stayed in a b&b. I kept thinking of you lot when I watched the girl collect all those sheets and towels and tablecloths every day... then we went in and switched on the power shower/lights/fan/tv at night and again in the morning. It wasnt cheap --£70 a night --but can you imagine her elect bill for 5 rooms ??

Depends on type of carpet and dog hair maybe, but I find there is less vacuuming if it's done every day. Can't say I do it but I'm not sure that you save electricity by doing less. As for brooms, I think it's a personal preference thing - I had one of those rubber ones and it was OK but not much different from any other broom. Just easier to wash and dry.

Did not look at the other posts. Does look suspicious but I do know of the site. Maybe enthusiastic convert.

Regarding the musty smell and fabric conditioner, I don't use fabric conditioner anyway.

The rubber brooms are ok on carpets, but TBH I've found it easier to get on my hands and knees and get the pet hairs off rugs and carpets with a hand held rubber brush.

I got my twin tub 2 months ago and will never go back to an automatic again. Yes, you have to be with it for half an hour, but in that time it washes, dries and you can hang out washing. The only problem is its made in China so don't expect it to last as long as the one I used to have 15 years ago. Blurb now says it is ideal for the elderly or disabled as it is top loaded, saving on bending down for front loaders. My sons clothes get heavily soiled and it cleans them effortlessly at a cold wash. I also keep a tight rein on the amount of water I use and for lightly soiled clothes I use the water straight on the garden. So enviromentally and financially friendly:T

Tht's good to hear. I really want a twin tub but my OH is really against it! Not that he ever washes anything.

I bought a rubber brush to do the stairs -- the one area I can't vaccuum due to my back problems -- and within a couple of months it was too worn to have much effect  it was good at first, but have gone back to a 'real' brush instead as they last heaps longer.....
