They drink their tea very weak in Holland and without milk. I wouldn`t like to keep my tealeaf tea in what is essentially a vaccuum flask
kittie - yep they do (drink it very weak and without milk). part of the reason why i wanted to get one was because i love the fruit teas they have there, but found it was just too strong in my little teapot, never mind an individual mug, one teabag does about 4/6 mugs of tea, any stronger and it becomes so bitter, the amount of sugar needed to make it palatable is unbelievable.
However, that's fruit tea.. my OH likes regular english tea as well (black, and fairly weak), and earl grey.. i've made both in the vacuum flask, the regular english tea with a teabag, if you leave it in the flask it gets very dark and very strong (in fact, OH usually ends up throwing the last 2 mugs worth away, and i yell at him, so now i take the teabag out before it gets that strong). With earl grey, we use loose leaf tea, and since we can't fish that out before it gets too strong i use the small teapot for that. But if you *like* your tea strong i can't see it doing any harm. From the instructions on the pot if the flask becomes stained you can use denture tablets to bring it up clean again.
*shrug*.. to each their own!

this is when I worry about what my "builder's tea without sugar" (not gnats p!!) is doing to my insides when I see the stains on my mugs and teapot!!! Guess we cannot win!! :rotfl:0 -

I don't have milk in my tea, but he does. If we're having Breakfast Tea, I have a slice of lemon in it, the others I just drink plain. No sugar in any of them (ugh!)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
got to say i am in both camps - oh does that make me a swinger?
I tend to drink it fairly weak when im at home on my own, but drink strong tea t my mother in laws house.
Although at my house i do have to fight with my 4 year old and the dog to get a half decent cuppa - i use tesco value tea bags and have found that if i make my cup of tea which is not like gnats piddle nor strong enough to strip wallpaper - its sort of a medum brew, then i can put same teabag in benjis mug and he gets a weaker cup of tea, then i put the teabag once squeezed into a bowl, add some warm water and allow it to finish defusing here, before adding milk to all, then i have my cuppa, benji has his and the dog gets his bowl of tea too. 1 bag = 3 cups.Time to find me again0 -

Twice now, when I have put the dishwasher on in the evening, I have smelt something really hot and, on opening the dishwasher, found it glowing red in the bottom which would surely have caught fire had we not been around to deal with it. This has happened with two different dishwashers. I am a bit more complacent with the washing machine as I have never had a problem, but it really does make you think when something does go wrong!
The element of your dishwasher should not be glowing red, it should be emmersed under water, if the water is not covering this fully or there is no water in the bottom then you need to get this repaired as this could cause a fire even during the day if your in.
Its similar to a kettle! U wouldnt leave the element exposed. If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
Afraid I do like a good strong cup of tea. Must be like my dad for that. We do have a pot of tea sitting on the side, but I don't often dip into it. Its quicker and easier to grab a glass of water from the tap. probably cheaper too.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Has anyone seen the BBC news ?
they are talking about the fuel poverty debate .
Looks like we are not getting any help this winter  .
They should come and read this thread , people are struggling and winter is just around the corner now  .Kindness costs nothing0 -
Yes, I heard that. They're talking about making houses more energy efficient instead. So what help is that for those of us who already have loft insulation, double glazing etc etc?0
-
How do they plan on doing that? We already have warmfront schemes, help for the disabled, help for those on low incomes, help for the elderly.... What about help for the average 2.4 joe.0
