Martha - the FUNCTION (marked Fn) on my keyboard is the far left button on the bottom row of keys. The F4 key on my keyboard is the fourth from the left on the top row of keys. On mine it has s little "moon" symbol to denote nighttime/sleep/hibernate.0

Are you familiar with the eskimo method of gauging nighttime temperature?? Two dog night or even three dog night??:rotfl: i.e. it's cold enough to keep need two dogs to keep warm - Well I can testify to the snuggliness of two staffies in your bed

Just finished making 3 door curtains ( 1 for the porch, 1 for the main front door and one for the back door) I made them out of old curtains and some fleece blankets from ikea. Even though I have double glazing it is not as draught proof as people thinkBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Function Button: This is really wierd because there's one on my laptop but I've just looked on our desktop computer keyboard and can't find one there. Are those of you who can't find the Function (Fn) key using desktops ??
It seems strange it would be on laptops but not on desktop keyboards so I can't figure this one out at the moment.0 -
function and F4 controls the volume on mine!
re using the kettle, boil in the morning and fill a flask."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
I only recently found out about the hibernate button, I have a shortcut key on the keyboard, it looks like a little crescent moon, it's brilliant.
Anyway, I also remembered about hubby's kelly kettle, got him to bring it into the house. Now I just stick it on the back doorstep, and it only takes a few sheets of the neighbours newspapers (or better still any junk mail) to boil up to 2.5 pints of water. I could use it heat up small pots (just enough for 1) of soup etc, but that's going just a bit too far.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -
I have an old computer - no Fn button! I tend to switch off, but also tend to forget it too often.
Today I remembered to use the slow cooker - much better than firing up the whole cooker, also, cooked the brocolli by sauteing in a little butter, then half a cup of stock from SC, bung lid on, turn off heat - perfect brocolli. I did break it up very small and cook the chopped up stalks before putting in the heads. Thank goodness for my skip found Le Creuset :TIf you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0
