I'm sure someone on here will know how I can cure this. I just got home from work and was about to load my washing machine but when I opened the door a really nasty smell wafted out
Any suggestions on how to cure this please?
Thanks0 -
Empty and clean the filter then run on an empty very hot cycle with some bleach in.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

You should ideally clean your washing machine out every month. Run it on a hot cycle with a little bleach with nothing in it, then clean filters, the powder draw and the door runners with a damp cloth.0

Hi kimmee,
This thread should help:
Smelly Washing Machine!!!
I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the ideas together.

Thanks Stingy, Ragz & Pink - I'll give your suggestions a go right now. It's funny because I cleaned the dispenser drawer out at the weekend but right now it smells like something died in there :rotfl:
Thanks again x0 -
I have just had the same problem, and it turned out to be water and gunk gathering in the folds of the seal around the door - ours has a big seal with a huge fold in in. Cleaned that out, did an empty wash with a special washing machine cleaner and it is fine now. The smell was definitely coming from the seal though, cleaning it out was disgusting!
I have fairly regularly cleaned the fluff drawer and run empty washes with various things in them to clean it out, but didn't realise how deep the seal was, or how much yucky stuff it could hold! :shocked:Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
hi everyone,
my washing machine smells mouldy - does anyone know of any ways to get it smelling fresh again - I am sure that i read somewhere that you can run a cup full of white vinegar through it?? Is this correct?0 -
Put it on a the hottest wash. All this washing at 30 degrees must surely mean germs breed!0

same as fluffpot, if you dont want to run it with no washing in it just put a couple of white sheets in and hottest wash you have.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
