I put it 1 lemon and 1 orange - all I had!
So I suppose it smelled..................................citrusy
St Clementsy ????? ;D
but it was better than it was before!0 -
I forgot to add, I usually put in the dishcloth too but when I took it out, it was covered with little bits of fruit pulp. Perhaps better to leave it out when putting in fruit into dishwasher. ;D0

Why does it smell and what do you do to make any smell go away?. Mine is fairly new (6 months old) and I ALWAYS rinse the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher – so there is no food residuals in there. However it is starting to make a smell now when you open them.
What can you do?0 -
Onlyoneme,
My washing machine smells. It's horrible and yet I am forever cleaning it. Will be interesting to see what people come up with.
Will keep an eye on this board.0 -

Dishwasher - sprinkle some bicarb of soda in there to get rid of the smells.
Washing machine - I tend to run a 90degree empty wash once a month with bleach in the drawer instead of soap powder. This stops it smelling bad. Also, keep the door open when its not being used to let it dry out thoroughly, and wipe inside any of the folds in the plastic door seal, which is where moisture gathers and can smell. If the bleach wash doesn't sort it out, pull out the machine and empty the filter, which may be so gunged up its starting to smell.0 -
Thanks . Will try these0
