Grandmasu - please don't be swayed by Quentin's misplaced rage and rhetoric.
Where is this "rage and rhetoric" you mention in my posts answering Grandmasu?
Or is this just more personal abuse aimed at people who don't support uw on this thread.
You are entitled to post your different opinions, but simply posting personal abuse just brings disrepute on the uw and its reps.
(And have those charities you list agreed that they can be used by uw like this for promotion?)0 -
UW has strange ethics (eg. we have seen they train their reps to "use/abuse" their friends and relatives despicably by getting them to ask for their help over a problem at work - they are taught to say they need someone to "practice" their patter on, when really they are wanting to "sign them up as a multi-service customer for at least four services, because that's what the top distributors do.")
Interesting, something like this happened to me just before Christmas, someone said they needed some help and would I role-play some sales techniques with them. When I wouldn't sign anything they tried a bit harder but were constrained in their response because I kept saying "but this is practice right, I mean you aren't trying some bulls**t hard-sell on me are you?"0 -
If UWs package does actually save these people money compared to who they are using now, and the charity they support get paid as a result of them signing up, I genuinely don't see the problem. Maybe that well known philanthropist and 'defender of the supposedly misled' Quentin would like to ring all these people personally and offer his services for free in order to get them onto the best possible supplier/tariff? That OK, Quentin? Thought not.0

Thanks for the replies
I worry because as a Charity I feel you should be VERY careful who you associate with. I would feel very guilty if by implication I had "recommended" something which I did not feel 100% comfortable with. Maybe I am being over cautious but my gut feeling is that there is to much doubt.0 -

Heres The NHS version http://www.nhscashback.co.uk/black-gold-discountcard.php
Your notice the retailers are much the same as the UW card. Except no M &S0 -
Hopefully the above posts will allow this thread to concentrate on UW's very high prices instead of the UW card used as a non-stop tactic to divert attention from those high prices.
If anyone doubts that UW have just about the highest gas and electricty prices in UK, they can look at any comparison website, or post the annual consumption in kWh here and someone will work it out for them.0 -
