Its an E7 set up, the issue is what have they done with the meter to cause your heating to be on for 24hrs.
You need an engineer out there with you onsite so he can tell you exactly what has gone wrong.
Just be aware that it could be the same engineer that comes out but stand your ground. You can request a supervisor call via your supplier if the engineer is not resolving the situation.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
Ican tell you now that is seriously wrong. What he has done is wired your normalsupply and the E7 together. This is serious storage heaters etc. are not madeto be on 24/7 and could blow the heat links in the heaters as they canoverheat. This is as well as an internal heat cut out tripping!
Idoubt if it is an E7 meter the guy would have known this and what one was. Ican say without doubt that your off peak is running 24/7 this matter is veryserious.
Theguy who did this is a serious idiot and sounds like he just used an old normalrate meter.
Italso puts into question the competence of the guy and if he left the installation100% SAFE.
Couldyou send a photo from your phone by text message?

I will try and describe the wiring. There are 2 cables from the supply into the meter. There is also a green and yellow wire from the supply which disappears into the wall and I presume is the earth. There are 2 cables from the meter into a brown box beside it. This box has 4 more cables leaving it which disappear into the wall and into the house. I would upload a photo but don't know how to do it!
It's very easy - see here
As a new user simply post the relevant part of the link e.g. omit http://www:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

It certainly is a worry, for me was as soon a I heard "I've got a meter on the van that will do" since the meters are configured before they go into the van and not by the meter fixers. Even if he did fit an E7, he could have used one with differing settings to the previous when it should be like-for-like which to a supplier would be an issue.
It won't be a domestic style meter if recording Day & Night with no time switch I reckon unless its set to work as half of a dual MPAN set up. If its fit to work as a 24hr meter, it still has to include a time switch or its not compliant with the industry data used to programme the meters.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

So why didn't you leave your attempt rather than editing it out so that someone could help you?
New users are not permitted to post any links, so if you want to post a link to a picture, you need to truncate the link so that it is no longer recognised by the forum as a link, as mentioned in post my previous post. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

Some meters that are domestic dont need a time switch! Sorry but you are talking to a certain extent waffle.
The main thing is by description there are serious issues with what the meter fixer has done!
I have fitted more meters than the whole of this forums members have had hot dinners!
Only the other week I found an installtion when the numpty before me had wired off peak and 24/7 into the meter wrong. The public would be shocked if they knew what training some of these "meter fixers" have or have not had!0
