    You will probably want some company literature to offer prospective customers once your initial "bundle" runs out. TANSTAAFL.

    Application forms, brochures and tariff guides are replenished FOC by head office in packs of eight. So, when a distributor has submitted their fifth (I think it is) customer application, a new pack of materials are sent to the distributor at no extra cost to them. Not sure if this applies to business customer applications but definitely for residential applications.

    Online applications through the distributor's website are much more popular now though.

    Didn't it used to be £200 to join? And didn't you used to have to collect 12 qualifying customers for a refund? Or have I dreamt this?

    PS I think Brassedoff is asking whether he/she needs to pay more for his/her distributorship if he wants to sell UW business energy?

    Yes, that is what I was on about, if I wanted to sell business energy, would it cost me more. I am a bit dubious of contacting one of the thousands of agents as I dropped an email a few years ago to someone and that was it, spam city!

    Anyone any idea why energyhelpline would add the £18/yr club fee on twice in their quotation for dual fuel?

    Any can any distributor throw any light on this, quoted from the energyhelpline tariff details?
    Electricity customers paying by monthly direct debit will receive an annual rebate of £21 subject to a minimum annual spend of £105 (not included in the savings figure).

    Mistake possibly. Have you sent an email asking them? It only appears once on my test comparison.
    :footie:
    :p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

    I will email them now. Just done 4 different quotes and every time it seems to be adding the £18 in twice. When you click on Gas Only or Electric Only it (quite rightly) adds the whole £18 to the figure but they then seem to simply add the Gas and electric figures together to get the dual fuel figure. Which is wrong. on the quote I just did for a friend of my Aunt (very low user) it has a massive effect on the outcome.

    PS Plus UW are clearly missing a trick with that £21 annual leccy refund (if it still exists?) not being included in the switching site's calculation fugue. They should simply grant it on day 364 like npower do. Job done. I'll email them also, lol.

    .....I did put up a post offering you to pm we with your questions as sometimes the information given on here is a little out of date. Somebody obviously didn't like that as I see my post has gone!.......

    No-one would like that, as you (and your colleague reps) break the site rules whenever you attempt to get round the site's rules by using the pm system like this. (But you and your colleagues know that, so why ask??)

    I see UW Telecom Plus are in trouble with the ASA .

    Anyone else had this?: my wife had her UW pre-paid card declined in Sainsburys yesterday. Knowing it had plenty of credit on it, she called the helpdesk. Words to the effect of: "Oh yes, sorry, we know about that, problem for all cardholders, just realised". So maybe naively, as card provider problems never last for more than 12 hours (do they?), she went into JS again just now... declined again.
    No mention on the website, no contact number (now closed until Wednesday), and therefore no indication of when you can actually use your card again.
    A few thoughts:
    1. Any larger card provider would have moved double quick to prevent a PR disaster. Presumably because of the small number of card holders with UW, they don't care;
    2. Really unimpressed that they are aware of it, but are taking no steps on the website to keep cardholders up to date with developments: if you don't have a credit/debit card with another provider, you have a real problem;
    3. So the helpdesk is now unavailable until Wednesday: does that happen with other card providers?

    You would be better posting this on the dedicated UW thread.
    In fact thats the only place where the Company which must not be named can be discussed.

    Not that the former owner of the site is bothered anymore.
    That gum you like is coming back in style.
