I wondered why other UW distributors have you on their ignore list. It is now clear.
Welcome back! - tis difficult to keep away despite assurances we have seen your last post - Keggs has posted for the final time on many occasions:D
Those of us who dislike the sales tactics and ethos of UW are surely not concerned that UW distributors have us on their ignore list.
The sole purpose of posting on this thread is to ensure that potential, and indeed current, UW customers are aware of the very high UW prices and the tactics used by their salesmen.
It is difficult to quantify how successful we have been in that aim, sadly it appears that none of your customers have 'seen the light'.;)0 -

If UW have such extremely expensive services, how do you explain that?I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I did an analysis of my energy costs against those offered by UW some time ago.
This was because my pension members club was promoting them.
The results were that UW were around 6% cheaper for me than those from my local suppliers (EON and British Gas) standard products, (excluding dual fuel discounts)
However going for the cheapest online accounts would save around 25%.
Have not looked recently so figures may be a bit off. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
And therein lies the answer. Not the cheapest (I have said this before) but not the most expensive either. 95% of the time I see UW compare very favourably against the "Big 6" energy suppliers. Are there some cheaper ones? Yes, I've already covered this. Are there a lot of more expensive providers than UW? Absolutely. UW (my customers at least) are saving people money. They could potentially be saving more elsewhere, certainly. There are, however, additional benefits to being a UW customer than just the prices, so taking all of those into account, perhaps, just maybe, some people might think it's a good idea all round.I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. but in a like-for-like comparison for the exact usage of one of my prospects yesterday, switching his gas & electricity to UW would save him £160 a year against his current supplier, NPower. Not including cashback card or any other discount incentives. Exact same energy usage quoted as against his latest bill, and cheaper.
If UW have such extremely expensive services, how do you explain that?
Care to give details?
NPower Tariff, gas and electricity in kWh, and area,0 -
There is nothing I can say that won't be greeted with venom and accusations of dishonesty.
I don't see any venom, but you have been dishonest (and lied) over the issue of the cashback having to be taken by the uw in answer to the obvious point (why be a busy fool and spend on the card just to pay for very expensive energy).
In fact it was only after 9 posts did you eventually agree that you had mislead us (and lied about the issue).
You originally came here with a challenge to beat the £120 your customer pays for his utilities, yet despite many requests refuse to give us his consumption, so what was the point of your challenge?
You assure us that this forum is not for you, and make your "last" post. Only to keep returning and stooping to personal abuse.
Yet you are the one who uses an unpleasant posting style which just brings your company into more disrepute:
eg:Meeper wrote:Carry on like that and I'll have to get Mr Blobby round to cover you in goo......
please extricate yourselves from your high horses, click on the little red X in the top right hand corner of your screens and don't bother typing anything more.....etc
What is your agenda for coming here, making unsubstantiated claims then trying to cause a row with your personal abuse? (Read the threads to see how many of your colleagues have come here and tried it on by making misleading/false claims before taking umbrage - and all that has actually been said is that your claim of never losing a customer is " very hard to believe")0 -
Care to give details?
NPower Tariff, gas and electricity in kWh, and area,
Electricity (6 month period):
2665 units (Manchester Area) @ 10.794p per kWh + £3 per month standing charge.
With UW worked out at £305.66.
Gas (6 month period):
4348 units @ 3.114p per kWh + £3 per month standing charge.
With UW worked out at £143.80.
His electricity bill with NPower for the exact same usage was £382.50 and his gas bill with NPower for the exact same usage was £141.40.
I recommended that he took both gas & electricity however, even though the gas appears more expensive with UW, because just switching his electricity away from NPower would have cost him his dual fuel discount of £3.something per month which would have made it more expensive to stick with them for just the gas.
So, for that 6-month period, his payments to NPower were £523.90 and the exact same usage with UW would have been £449.46, a saving of £74.44 over the 6-month period, or equivalent of £148.88 per year saved. I guess my previous statement of £160 was a bit out. My bad.
So, you wanted proof, that's as much proof as it's possible to give on here. There's my calculations, to the penny.
Once again, this is regardless of any other discounts he may get from cashback, etc. He happened to shop in Sainsbury's and get his petrol from there also, spending around £500 in that store at the moment. Using the cashback card for that spend would have reduced his already cheaper bills down from £449.46 to £299.46 for the 6-month period, or a total annual saving of £448.88 (around a 58% reduction on his NPower annual spend).I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. What exactly do you mean by this new claim?
Unless you are using some clever twist of your words which you will shortly reveal, this is just nonsense.
Are you are saying now that 95 out of 100 of us will find the uw cheapest for energy?0 -
No. That's not anything like what I am saying. Amusing that you would twist it around whilst accusing me of twisting it around. Nicely done.

Could you just explain what you did mean, then? (I did quote you correctly didn't I?)0
