A couple of questions about UW.
Firstly do UW send out annual statements of payments to pre payment meter customers and if so when do they do this. My partner has been trying to get a statement from them for a couple of months now.
Secondly he was in debt with them but when he has caught up will they automatically stop taking the extra each week. Sorry if that sounds a bit daft but I am use to credit meters.0 -

I haven't a clue tbh but will will find out for you. It won't be today though, so if any UW ID can help out before I do that would be good. UW can I think install a new meter(s)
Has your partner not contacted the person who introduced him or her up. They should be finding these things out on their behalf.
Why is your partner using a pre-payment meter. It's a very expensive way (whatever energy company you use) to receive energy.

Thanks for the quick reply and if you could find out about the annual statement or if anyone else knows the answer would be appreciated.
The reason he is on pre payment is he got himself into debt (before he knew me) and we are trying to get all things sorted out now we are together. It was his landlord that signed him up to UW and no doubt he will know about the debt but dont want to draw his attention to it tbh.0 -
Hi there
I am a UW ID.
You will not get a statement if you are on a prepayment meter, as you do not with any other supplier.
However, if you look on you meter and press the button in it. it will give your details of the meter.
i.e usage, your rate you are paying and what your standing charge is( ie. how much extra you are paying to off off the debt) Everything will be there.
If you take a note of them weekly you will be a bale to work out all the information you should need.
Hope this answers your question.0 -

If you need any detailed advise about UW, just give me a shout, it doesnt need to a mission. The company is designed from the base level to overcome any and all problems that will happen when dealing with peoples situations. The person who signed you up, should be knowledgeable enough to give you this information, and should also be looking after you.
If you need any help just let me know.0 -

Hope this answers your question.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Hi there,
You are quite right, I was not exactly clear on what I said.
You do get a statement but a very simple summarised one. Not very detailed.
From what was said earlier I understood that the person was wanting a usage and payments broken down from budgeting.
The statement only says how much used and how much paid, prices for next year and estimated consumption for the next year, I believe it breaks down VAT as well.
I have a friend that has been on a payment meter who I have just phoned to ask about this. However it was a yearly statement, but this is the first time they have ever received one, and they have been at their current property for 4 1/2 years, with the same payment meter.
She does inform me however that she is quite sure that she could get it quarterly if she asked, but very much doubts monthly.
She is not sure if you can do this on-line but she is away too find out.
When I was on a payment meter I never received a statement, there for it was my understanding that companies did not do this.
My apologies...every day is a learning day.
The best way is still to read your meter regularly.0 -
Hi there,
Im sorry but have to right just one more comment, My first post which clearly peeved a few people off, was only meant to highlight another option for people. Sorry.
Having read some more posts I can see that there is quite a lot extreme opinions on here. And im not here to argue.
I would like to point something out though, most of the comparisons that have been made have been made out of costing in £, when it is the price per KW that you need to be comparing.
Every company can tell you how much it will cost you in pounds, but it is unwise to rely on this as a direct comparison to other companies, as it completely depends on how much you use.
Therefor could easily go up or down.
Also that anyone who is on a fixed tariff, before the last price rise will have the best deals, and will probably be hard to beat for any company.
If there are better deals for Pence Per KW, that beat UW, I would love to hear.0 -

Hi,
You appear to be a new UW salesman?(Independant Distributor) and are quoting the Triple Value Guarantee?
I am afraid you are mistaken in your claims, but as you 'would love to hear';)
If you look at any of the comparison websites you will find that just about every company offers their gas and electricity much cheaper than UW. That includes pence per kWh or any other way of comparing gas and electricity prices.
Just as an example, the average consumer in UK uses 16,500kWh gas and 3,300kWh electricity.
A new customer in my area(Midlands) for that consumption will pay £1,034 with Scottish Power On Line energy Saver 16.
Of the 90 tariffs listed on Energyhelpline, the cheapest UW tariff(high user) is in 64th place and will cost £1,210.
So UW is 17.02% more expensive.
Even the most brazen UW salesman steers clear of making any claim of UW gas and electricity being cheap, as it is so easily disproved. They talk of it being 'competitive' and steer the conversation to other perceived benefits obtainable from UW.
You will doubtless get lots of Private messages now from fellow UW salesmen, telling you to be aware of Quentin and myself who as you might gather are not fans of UW and the selling techniques practiced by some UW salesmen.
Anyway - welcome to the forum.0 -
Hi,
Thank you for making your position clear, everything as follows is not meant to sell the product to you.
I have just done a quote for myself from the energy helpline website, (which I had not done before hand)and granted Utility Warehouse are not the top.
However there were 2 major factors that were wrong.
Who currently supplies my gas and electricity, and the tariff Im supposedly on.
The tariff quoted for the different uses from UW are wrong, do you know where this Information is sourced, it can't be UW.
The prices are literately miles out. Everything from standing charges to P PK/W. Low Standard and High.
I have sent them an email.. will wait and see.
To the unknowing eye, this is a very false illusion. I know the website is credible but not accurate at all.
If 1 company's tariff is wrong who is to say that the other company's tariffs are correct??0
