I'm assuming you will now also post on the nearest Scottish Power thread regarding the ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE POUNDS SAVING that the Mirror secured the Ashberrys by transferring them to EDF? No? Thought not. :p

It is obviously a mistake by the Mirror the Ashberrys must have been with UW to have saved that much by switching to EDF;)

Go on, Cardew, admit it - you've missed me. Your life on MSE seems to have a purpose again. You've got a spring in your online step. The cobwebs are gone. Great to see. You've re-discovered your mojo. Yeah baby!!

UW now has over 370,000 residential and business club members. About 12 months ago I think this was about 250,000. Massive increase in a short time.....

More misleading misinformation from a UW rep.

250000 to 370000 in a year would be a "massive" increase. (Around 50%)

Needless to say the figures are wrong.

Their latest trading statement (5/10/11) gives the current figure as actually 392,699 and states this is a 15% rise in the last 12 months. (They have massaged their own figures, as 12 months ago they said they had 356,000 customers, so the increase over the last year is actually 11.5%).

But we have seen their reps are taught to avoid getting into detail when selling the company, and we see it in action in this thread time and time again.

They claim to now have 34,500 reps. So each rep signed up on average just 1 net new customer during the year! Good job they are self employed, and don't have a sales manager to answer to!

Telecom Plus share price performance compared to the FTSE-All Share over the last 5 years and during which C & Q continued/stepped up their bizarre campaign. Hope the link works. If I was a struggling company I would be tempted to employ them to slag it off endlessly online. :p If it was a boxing match the ref would have stepped in a long time ago.

    Market Cap (GBP m) 508.79

Do you not see the irony in your post?

If BG or any of the Big 6 post 'massive profits' and their share price increases with increased dividend payouts, you are among the first to howl in protest.

Yet when UW with 'just about the highest gas and electricity prices in Uk'(tm) perform well on the stock market, you are forever on here gloating about their share price.

High profits and share price are not necessarily good for customers!

The thing that would make me wary of investing in UW is that I suspect they have no substantial assets to support their market capitalisation - I haven't bothered to investigate. Their value is the 30,000 plus salesmen and the structure selling high priced gas and electricity bundled up with other products services. The 'Tupperware' or 'Ann Summers' of the Utility industry;)

Just keep a very close eye on when the Directors start selling their shares!!

I speak as someone with quite a few bank shares! So what do I know!!!

I do love this specific forum for a good laugh. I see nothing has changed with the usual two!

I recently moved my mobile over to UW when they offered to pay the termination fees for us distributors. I was paying O2 £27 for 300 mins/ unlim texts. I'm now paying £10 pm for 500 mins/ unlim texts, therefore saving another £17 pm on the calls and texts tariff but have now got an additional 200 minutes free into the bargain. How cool is that? Also, since I am no longer tied into a contract for a specific handset, I've since upgraded to and purchased my own smartphone so I have now also taken out an additional data tariff but despite that I'm still £12 pm better off.

Online Cashback - Just a point to clarify from a previous posting. For the vast majority of UWDC online retail partners, you do not need to use a UW cashback card, you can use any card. However, you must click through to the retailers site from the UWDC site in order for the retailer to get the appropriate information to give you your cashback against your account. So, as I have advised several of my customers, they can continue to use their existing credit card that gives them either cashback from it's use or extra points towards their existing collection, and still get additional UW cashback against their utility bills. Also, what non-UW customers cannot see, is the available discount codes that are also listed for many of the retail partners in addition to the cashback offer.

    Simples and everyone wins.!!

But aren't you ashamed of the way the "usual two" behave here? Their behaviour reflects on the whole of your organisation, and surprising you now post to say you get a good laugh when you read their contributions!

And as well as posting misleading claims and false UW propaganda, both Meeper and Keggs resort to unpleasant personal abuse!

The usual two I referred to was yourself Quentin and Cardew, but you knew that. lol.

Strange how you ignored the other positive notes I made! Can't think why. :rotfl:
