Amazing! You just won't admit, under any circumstances, that UW can be the best deal for people. Whilst I don't begrudge anyone their opinion, I do question them when they refuse to consider any other opinions which are contrary to their own, because it is obviously "wrong".
NigeWick was indeed a distributor, as he has mentioned previously. I gather he is no longer. Whatever, doesn't matter to me. Shouldn't matter to anyone. He has moved his energy away as it's no longer the best option for him, which is fine. He's kept his other services as they still have great value for money. Surely if he wanted to keep saying things just to "obfuscate" and preach the virtues of UW, he wouldn't ever have shared the fact that he switched his energy.
He has been open, honest and explained his reasoning in a perfectly rational manner, and yet you STILL accuse him of bias and subterfuge. Unbelievable. Hopefully everyone can see through your words and realise just how sad this is becoming.I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The easiest way to get Quentin scuttling back to the Insurance Forum is to try and pin him down as to his opinion on the new mobile SIM only deals. Cardew clams up also. The 2 most vociferous critics of UW have NO opinion on them. Funny that. That's the problem I have with them - they just aren't prepared to give any credit to UW even when it is due. Which can only mean one thing...0

Cheaper price, more inclusive minutes and texts, and a stronger signal. What is all this?
All I did was point out nigewicks (highly) relevant omission in his reply to transformer that he was actually a rep for uw all the time he told us it was the best deal for him.0 -

Totally correct. isn't funny how none of the anti UW lot have commented on the behaviour of the British Gas salesman. But if it comes to UW distributors who are in the main very part time do anything that they consider unprofessional they are jumped on.
I have had my doubts about them as being honest brokers. They obviously have hidden agendas.0 -

This thread discusses UW (not BG!).
Though many UW reps have behaved here badly, broken the rules, mislead us etc etc, and have rightly been corrected.
(eg. Note the recent behaviour where a rep used the forum to tell us that UW's promise to supply their members the cheapest energy was correct, when it was in fact totally untrue! No-one from UW stood up and corrected him, and his misleading post remains uncorrected)
You accuse me of a hidden agenda - in what way? I would have thought my view of UW is pretty transparent!
However accusing us of having hidden agendas is a bit rich coming from keggs!
Keggs constantly comes here to defend UW and tells us how happy he is with them.
Yet elsewhere on the net he is vociferous about his disenchantment with the company, announced he had given up promoting it and wants his colleagues to complain to the management and at long last the scales seemed to have fallen from his eyes:keggs wrote:I am not happy.....To say I'm angry is an understatement.......I can't promote something that I don't believe in and while this hasn't gone completely I feel sapped..........Personally, I'm sick of it now.....Can I suggest that IDs start complaining to the company en masse....I have become disillusioned. Have been for a while really........I've stopped completely both customer gathering and ID recruiting now...because I no longer believe it offers people the great benefits it once did........We are all told to be happy but unless we are allowed to voice our feelings nothing will change....etc etc0 -
Words. All just words. And old ones at that! Don't you have any new material? Can't you think of any ways to bash the market-leading mobile deals?I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The reason this thread was resurrected was merely to point out that there may be legislation so customers can seek redress if they were mis-sold gas and electricity by doorstep salesmen.
We have established that virtually all UW sales are covered under the present doorstep sales legislation.
UW without question have for years had just about the most expensive gas and electricity tariffs in UK. Also for years the worthless TVG was the central plank of the UW sales drive; despite the recent attempts of some salesmen to distance themselves from that guarantee.
If people have been mis-sold gas and electricity by UW(even if by a relative or friend) then you might have a case for compensation; if you haven't been mis-sold then obviously you haven't got a case!

What is not clear is why you felt the particulr need to highlight this fact in relation to UW specifically. I have had knocks on doors from almost all of the "big 6" energy suppliers in the last 12 months - have you "resurrected" any threads or dedicated comment on their activities also, or are you only highlighting it as part of your anti-UW campaign?
Finally:UW without question have for years had just about the most expensive gas and electricity tariffs in UK.
