I already mentioned that I made an error. I wish that I had never made an error, but that's life. I wish that I could be so infallible as to never make an error at any time. I beg forgiveness.
Can we move on now and stop beating this particular drum? You have taken the comments of one observer, to which I responded in a perfectly reasonable manner, and enhanced and taken them to the n'th degree of sinisterness, as is your way. Can we focus on the facts instead of useless tittle-tattle, or isn't it possible to have an adult discussion?I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Transformer wrote: »Go looking for lemons and all that rubbish, I went looking for cheapest gas and electric, and found a lemon of a company rep talking the talk with no foundation !!!!!
I gave her every chance and she got nasty, I mean I only asked what I would ask any company, quote per units etc.....and she got very abusive derogatory even.
So I on my experience will happily call UW a lemon, thanks
I stand by my previous comment earlier regarding taking all of the services in the round to see how it could help you rather than concentrating on the individual unit price of a kWh of energy. Whilst this is, of course, important information, there is the potential for massive discounts off the unit price, rendering the actual unit cost nothing more than black marks on white paper. The principle of UW's proposition is that all of the services come together to provide an overall discount off the total. And it works, in the majority of situations. It doesn't work for everyone - what does? But looking just at a unit price is an inaccurate method of comparing because UW offers elements of their service that other companies do not, therefore it's not a fair comparison to just look at the kWh rate, for example.I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. You remind me of someone meeper
Has an urge to defend utility warehouse too on the sales front of such a good company, yet when issues arise can do nothing. ZILCH.
The rep who called me was unaware I was utility savvy and just kept refering to how they could save me plenty, but without foundation to extent said cheaper than the big six !!!!!!!
It was all rubbish, they were not cheaper and I found that out by researching myself and when I asked her to either honor her claims as genuinely after cheapest or account for how she can say that without foundation and she spewed derogatory swear remarks and left it there.
I have to say form my experience a lemon. Thank you for the reference, lemon sounds about right, I wouldnt have thought of that0 -

Don't think you really "beg" forgiveness at all....
Just to remind us what this so called "error" was:
How is the current quote misleading? For customers taking 4 services or more from us, they qualify for our Unique Price Promise, which is as above. If they are able to find standard gas, standard electricity or standard dual fuel from any other supplier, they will get double the difference back......

That wasn't an error - how could you post such incorrect (but obviously eyecatching) info about your own company and do it to supposedly correct me - when I had accurately exposed the new worthless UW "promise".
(If anyone missold a financial product in a similar way no-one would want them as their "advisor"!)
(You accused me of posting bogus information (in your earlier swansong, though you keep returning keggs like), I politely asked you where this bogus info is, but of course no reply despite the scurrilous nature of your accusation.)0 -

I have answered all reasonable questions put to me, and I have attempted to give an opinion to our latest contributor which he chooses not to take into account, as is his right. No problem.
As this section of the forum relates to the services people receive, can we have sensible discussion along those lines, perhaps?I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Just been thinking. Isn't UW's 'double the difference' pledge similar to the MPs 'compensation for mis-selling' proposals that started all this sillyness? Plus it additionally includes mobile, phone line and broadband compensation for mis-selling that doesn't appear to? Does anyone really believe that if these proposals become law that the compensation figure will be based on ANY tariff available at the time and not just the tariff the punter switched from?
PS Do any of the big 6 offer anything similar?0 -
Of course, there will be some distributors who are less skilled than they could be. There are also some British Gas employees who aren't as good as some others.

--UW Distributor
I was confronted with a British gas salesman on my own front door a fortnight ago. I practically had to slam the door on him just to get rid. He was obnoxious. BG constantly hound me to try and get me to go back to them. I have no intention of doing so so - EVER.0 -
The anti UW brigade seem to forget one simple thing. No UW Distributors works for the Utility Warehouse. They are simply ordinary people with ordinary people's failings and shortcomings. This lady may not have treated you with respect Transformer but it sounds to me that you were probably just as arrogant. Your statement that your are savvy and she didn't know says it all. I think you are also a lemon.0

Well put it this way.
To try and impress readers with claims to be 'very highly qualified' Financial Adviser(presumably Chartered staus!) dealing in £millions, are somewhat devalued by selling UW products in the evening.
FA is about solid planning, saving people money, avoiding unneccessary taxation, reducing outgoings and ensuring sustainability. UW reduces outgoings, one of the points that helps with FA. They dovetail quite well.I am an Independent Financial AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as an Independent Financial Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. All companies will have employees or independent distributors covering the whole spectrum from wonderful to pitiful. Whingeing about a company for the actions of one person is a bit of an over reaction IMHO.The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.
