All of this nonsense is irrelevant. It is absolutely clear over the last couple of pages that you and your friends have no substance and nothing to say other than "UW are dishonest and just use spin".
Not only to point out the dishonesty and spin, but show evidence of it, (as well as evidence of the training methods used to teach the reps how to mislead their friends and abuse their freindship!)

My comment:
"Millicent" is an AE for carmine etc.
On the uw reps forum they are asked not to post here, but leave it to Carmine who does a "good job".
Other pro uw posts from the same person have been spotted (and some removed) on forums across the net. (It seems the one you have referred me to has been removed too!)0 -
I quite fancy the cashback card but have a few questions.
The uw would like you to think their risky card is the only way to get "cashback" off your shopping.
This isn't the case, and you will find better deals discussed elsewhere in this thread!
(eg. UW give just 3% "cashback" off petrol/food at sainsbury, when 3.5 to 5% is on offer elsewhere, 3% at asda (3.5 to 5% elsewhere), etc)
But you cannot just take the risky uw cashback on its own, you must join their club (monthly charge) and take at least one service from them.
No such problems with the competition!0 -
For the benefit of new readers:
For the average user UW are just about the most expensive gas and electricity company in UK
Check that fact out on any comparison website.
Bear in mind that there are over 30,000 UW salesmen, many come on here posing as satisfied customers. Some of the posters even stoop to posting with multiple identities.
Their purpose is to obfuscate and hide facts about UW's very high prices.0 -

Sorry to intervene in this fine row which has been going on, it seems, since the Jurassic era.
We used to have mobile, gas and electricity with UW but moved gas/elec a while ago.
We did keep our mobiles with them. I went to try and upgrade OH's mobile and found their inflexibility quite strange.
They had the phone I wanted but would not swap it for her birthday but only on 1st of each month. I would have lived with that but then I found out that the value tariffs referred to above are not available to existing customers. Reason: because the systems have not yet been updated. They then offered me a tariff which was reasonably competitive on price but then the killer, a 60 month minimum contract. I asked if I could start on that and switch when the systems were updated in a couple of months time to a valuecall tariff and 24 month contract. Answer: No. So I got a pac code and as a special favour I shall not be charged for it!!! All of this done completely pleasantly but what a poor way to treat existing customers. When I have succeeded in moving OH's phone I will then move mine. We now know that "computer says no" is not just the province of Little Britain but alive and well out there.
Incidentally you cannot find any reference to existing customers being treated differently even on the bit of the web site you go to if you follow the existing customer route.
In short two customers with old phones upgrading to smartphones, prepared to give them money and turned away.0 -
............Never once in the time I have been involved with UW has anyone ever suggested to me during any training sessions that I should use the savings calculator on the public website, print off the information and use it with a client. Never...............
Maybe you are a maverick?? Or don't go to the training??
We have heard the reps being trained on this technique. (To print off the fantasy savings calculator from the uw website for a friend's address then take it round with them to "prove" the benefits the friend is going to see if they will sign up for multiple services with uw.)
In fact you can hear the trainer seems quite irritated that not enough reps make use of this "absolutely fab" and "really really powerful" sales aid. He complains its "highly hugely underused" by the reps, and Humphrey at head office has put in a load of work on it to use with gullibles.
http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/audio/jc/Handling-Objections-181009.mp3
You can also hear the rep using it on a friend, though no mention of how "assumptive" it is in showing an £850 saving in writing!
Also note the reps are taught not to "let on" that the risky card can only be used at certain supermarkets or petrol stations, but just to say the gullible can get discount on food and petrol purchases, and let him discover later that he actually has to spend at uw's partner stores. And this is when selling to a friend!0 -
Not bad, but can often find a cashback deal that nets better , or something like recent Tesco deal which had 500 mins, texts and internet , all on 1m rolling contract (I assume UW charge extra for internet )Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

That was a limited period one-off special offer. £10/mth now gets you 250 mins, unlimited texts (3,000 actually) and 500mb data for the first 3 months only. Of course, if you are an existing UW broadcall customer (like me) getting one of the UW SIM deals then additionally gives you unlimited free evening calls to add to your existing unlimited free weekend calls. Additional value, I think they call it.
Fact is, UWs claim here is totally truthful and provable. Which probably explains the noticeable (and totally predictable) current absence from this thread of the 2 posters most critical of UW0
