No worries hope you get it sorted out. I did use VAT inclusive prices, but there may be a 5% margin of error.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

I think I shall just cancel the direct debit until I catch up . Not at home now so can't check bank statements etc
In most circumstances, cancelling a direct debit is not the way to go. If a company expects to be taking an amount from your account and they cannot take it, it can create problems. A more sensible suggestion would be to look on your bill at the usage numbers that are used on there and you will be able to see the cost of the energy you used along with the amount that you have paid. If you have paid more than you used, there will be a credit balance. Discuss this with the company (not just cancelling the DD) and they will arrange to either have this credited back to you or they will not charge until the credit has been used up. Just stopping the DD though isn't the best plan.

And the option if you don't work for the NHS?
you asked for an example of of a card that offers the same benefits
    , and I gave one...

close to 1.4 million are employed by the NHS,

but as I said its not just NHS employees who can get this card.( thats 1.4 million employees) .. they are avaiable via a large number of employees but they are just branded differently .. effectively all the same card

To be fair, payless, I think what we have all been asking for is an alternative to the UW card, and the card you (eventually!) told us about is not available to vast swathes of the UK public, unlike the UW card, which is effectively available to the whole of the UK. Don't get me wrong, if you can get the card (and know about it what with all the silly secrecy we witnessed on here regarding its existence, lol), it's definitely an alternative. But if you can't.......

PS If you don't mind me asking, how did you qualify for the card?

Once again this becomes the cashcard thread and attention diverted from UW's extremely high prices.

Once again this becomes the thread about high costs on paper which is not as important as the actual amount of money that comes out of your bank account every month.

When you answer some questions instead of copy/pasting diatribe and refusing to engage in a sensible debate, your words will be taken seriously. Until then, your opinion counts for nothing.

  • I must have missed something. Is Cardew the chairman of this meeting? It's entirely obvious that he doesn't want discussion of cash back cards on account of his rather embarrassing non-use of any of them on the market. Which sort of negates his attempt as coming across as some sort of money saving guru on this thread.

His mantra should really read: Do as I say, not as I do.

PS I have posted this statement several times and Cardew don't seem too keen to discuss UW prices on this one. Why?

For low-ish users who do not have 'net access, UW have just about the lowest Gas and electricity prices in the UK.
