    Common sense at last :
I would have thought fridges would be disposed of fairly often. But the rest (unless we're talking old computers / consoles / etc) seems pointless to request so sounds like a reasonable rule.
  • I think the new limitations will be great, my local freecycle is just full up of people wanting fridges, freezers, ovens, washing machines, tumble dryers, beds and wardrobes! Basically everything you need to set up home! Usually combined with a sob story!

The Ridgeway School in Reading has a coop, hen house and chickens....

The children have incubated eggs until hatching and then they become rather attached to the chicks so if space allows the school will try and keep them.

I think the point was that this person wrote "children coop" rather than "chicken coop". ;)
I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Now that's real free-range - put the children in the coop and let them watch the chickens running free!
  • I don't actually have a problem with people (politely) posting "shopping lists" of multiple items needed to set up home, because circumstances occasionally occur when some people may have a houseful of stuff to get rid of (e.g. couples moving in together) and may welcome the convenience of someone collecting all their spare stuff at once.
The ones that annoy me are those which specify that items should be as-new, a particular colour etc.

The requests that really annoy me, are the ones asking for photos to be sent, they are desperate for new beds, wardrobes, cookers etc etc and they want photos, before they will accept what you are offering. Or they are desperate for a 3 piece suite, must be red, or brown, if they are that desperate they would accept what they are offered.

I don't object to wanteds as much as many people do, but these examples would annoy me, too.
Am perfectly happy with desperate wanteds. Am perfectly happy with sending a photo before someone comes to collect (though would offer to someone who didn't need a photo in preference to them!) or someone stipulating colours, etc. But wouldn't be happy with a combination of the two!
