  • I dont suppose some kind hearted soul out there has one of these they no longer want or use please?
My daughter has one of the originals and it just about dead and she would love another. She and i would be eternally grateful for the gift.
Many thanks to all who read this.
    ******* xx

She was lucky to have one in the first place. When I was a kid we could never afford games consoles.
If she really wants a new one, save up!!

    Makes me so mad!!

When I was a kid they didn't exist. I'm not that old, 50. I think that it's a shame that kids now have to have things to entertain them at all times.
I had roller skates & a bunch of us used to spend hours, making up dances on our skates.
We had ropes for skipping, my Nan was a little cross when I took her temporary washing line on a day she needed it.
A pair of stilts made out of tin cans, radios made with cans & string.
We played the good old games, leap frog, hopscotch etc.
Strangely enough not one of us was so much as plump.
We ate what was put in front of us, huge meals of meat, potatoes & veg.
Went to bed at a reasonable time & slept all night.
Could play out in the streets without fear, not many people had cars apart from stranger danger.
Yes they were certainly the good old days.

I know it's a popular hobby but do they really write books about it? :rotfl:

Actually yes they do!:D - I even have a couple myself. They are cozy murder mysteries ( bit like Murder she Wrote) . Magge Sefton is one such writer. Quick fun reads with a free knitting pattern included.
