I stand by "up to £73"
In Melbury's post(#40) that I commented on in #42 (as opposed to your calculation or the comparison site ) Melbury did a straight arithmetic calculation costing 36,000 kWh using Ebico and BG. However as we all appreciate he did not take into account the DD discount of up to £18.25 per quarter.
Now 4 x £18.25 = £73.
I did caveat that by stating that it was 'up to' £73 allowing for any quarter that might be low enough not to attract a discount of £18.25
So how am I incorrect in stating "up to £73"?0 -
I was going to refer you to #29 but I see I mistook 248 for 228. So I'm wrong again.0

I am not a he, I am a she!!!!! - although I concede on these boards it is quite difficult to tell.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Just applied online to switch to Ebico
never thought of changing in the past
but the recent hikes in PG`s prices made
me think i`d give someone else a try.
My question is ,what happens now?
They say they will send me a email
confirming application,do I need to get
in touch with powergen, when will the
new contract take effect, they did ask
for the current reading on both meters.
I am on age concern plan with powergen,
would you say I have done the correct thing
in changing,my last 2 annual bills were around
£300 gas £240 electricity.
Thank you.0 -
You will get a couple of cards, Metro, to say things are progressing, and a plea from Powergen to stay.
Otherwise no need to advise them.
I left my DD until Powergen Age Concern had taken their final payment, tho they were adrift by £3.50 from using estimated final readings. Takes 4 to 6 weeks.
Helps if there are no loose ends for EBICO or Powergen to sort. You will enjoy EBICO's simple style invoices, and their large print bills are as big as tabloid newspaper size.0 -

Equipower and Equigas prices are the same to all their customers whether they take one or both fuels, or how they pay be it prepayment meter, quarterly bills or by direct debit.
ASAIK Ebico have only ever done stand alone tarifs. So if you click to compare dual fuel deals you never saw them. I think Uswitch put Equidual on their site just to get Ebico a dual fuel comparison.
Of course they then managed to hide Ebico under social tarifs...

I'll take that bet. Energy prices are due to fall and the regulator has already warned the energy companies to pass on any falls.
This is all a case of personal opinion of course but it seems to me that you need to take a calm reasoned view of things. I refixed my mortgage for 7 years when others were pushing trackers because I thought that was where the smart money was. IMO the smart money is currently not with fixed energy rates (but it might have been last year).
