    Hi there

I ordered mine during the FA cup final (sad I know, but the match was pretty tedious!), and it still hasn't arrived. Surely I must be in the first batch, so I am not sure why there has been a delay in sending those out.

If they are allocated on a first come first served basis, why would they wait 3-4 weeks to send out the ones in the first batch?

It makes you wonder if the marketing department arranged all the adverts for FA cup final day, but someone might have forgotton to order the actual monitors.......

    Has anyone got one yet?

There is a good chance mine might have arrived yesterday. I came home to a red card from the postman and the postman has written EON BOX on the card. I won't know for sure until I collect it, but this will not be until Saturday since their office hours seem to coincide with mine! I am sure EON are not sending me anything else.

I hope someone elses arrives today.

Nice postman - I think it would be handy if all postman told you what was in the post that you missed, then you could decide if it was worth rushing to the post office :D

Better hope it isn't your bill!!!

Mine arrived today:j. I ordered it within an hour of the offer appearing on EON so guessed I'd be in the first batch posted.

Looking through the booklet in answer to some of the questions raised it says that it cost 2p a week to run. It looks very good, just go to get it all set up now and start trying to save some money with it!!
:j Survey sites are boring but points add up if you persist with it - Great way to save up for xmas! Quidco is brill, watching the money pile up. Every penny counts !! :T

After all my moaning - my monitor arrived at the weekend.

I am still bemused why it takes nearly the full 28 days to ship these things out, but now it has arrived I am pretty impressed.
    • It is a doddle to set up.
    • The LCD bit which sits in the house is powered by an ac adapter, which they claim costs 2p per day to run
    • The external "clamp" which connects to you electric supply near the meter - plugs into a big black transmitter which is powered by two D cell batteries, which are included and they claim last for 7 years.
    • The unit can be connected to a PC, via the USB port and a cable is included in the box - which I am pretty impressed with. I haven't tried this yet, but I imagine it will be possible to link with the Google Energy website which was asked about earlier.
    • The display itself is pretty simple to use and show current WATTs being used then it cycles around and show how much that usage would cost "per day, per month etc". It also shows time and temperature.
    • You can input your actual tarrif and it supports economy 7, which I don't think the old ones did.
The only down side is that the transmitter that sits in with your meter sticks to the wall with double sided tape and velcro, and since the box is pretty heavy the sticky tape didn't hold - so I have now decided to lie mine down at the bottom of the elecric box.

Have to go now and obsessively turn things off around the house :-)

Mine did arrive on Thursday, and no, it wasn't my bill Teeboy!

I collected it from the Post Office on Saturday and set it up yesterday. I'm impressed with it, it is much more detailed than the Owl Energy monitor.

Just a point for any British Gas customers - I got this same meter from them for nothing plus a 6 socket "standby saver" extension lead. Can't remember whether you needed to be on certain benefits or whether anyone could get one but its worth a look if you are a customer, £60 worth of stuff for nothing can't be bad ;o)
