I think it would be decided on the time you applied to switch rather than when the change took place. As it usually takes 6/8 weeks you would have been on the earlier version of the Online tariff.0 -

My letter gave a 10.6% rise for both gas and elec
Tariffs do vary across the country obviously but the point was that the April online tariff had changed and they make that change across the board.
Don't know the answer to that one yet but you can be sure i will be calling them tomorrow to find out.0 -
Hi everyone,
Well my prices say effective 28th April on them and my electricity switched over on the 29th May and gas on 15th June so I don't know if that makes a difference. Like alonobrien says the prices vary a lot depending on area but I think any price increase would be across the board. It might just be that since I haven't had a bill yet it'll be on my first bill but it does seem from doing a comparison at energyhelpline that the prices I'm are still the prices so it is confusing. How did you get on when you phoned them up alonobrien?
Regards

I've just been sorting out my own switch to EDF, and they seem as confused as we are. In particular, they appear to have made a complete mess of the letters listing the new prices - the ones listed on mine bear no relation to the actual tariff I'm on (apparently an online tariff called A3B4, which has had an increase as of 31 July, but even so it's still the best for me according to the switch sites).
I think the only way to be sure what has happened to your prices is to phone and ask.

Has anyone realized that if you are on EDF's Online Tariff then the Dual Fuel Discount and their Direct Debit Discount worth over £50 per year does not apply!!!

EDF are a joke, 28th Oct 2005 I applied and they still haven't finalised electricity switch. Gas went through in Dec-05.0

Everyone.... just make sure youre on the correct tariff with them (or anyone else!), check and double check your bills. I have found out today that I'm not on the online tariff that I requested via USwitch over 12 months ago. I queried it today with them today, as I was about to switch again, and asked some pressing questions, they agreed to swap me to this original online tariff as couldnt see why I wasn't on it.... I'm in credit now by £450 as they have cancelled the previous charges and rebilled me on the online tariff I should have been on all along..... cant believe it!!!0

Yes I have realised. The Online tariff much cheaper than the standard tariff even with the discounts.0 -

Probelm is it wasn't mentioned when one signed up and neither was it mentioned on anything EDF sent out. Plenty of detail about the benefits of paying by monthly DD and the DF discount BUT nothing about it not applying to the online tariff. Energywatch agree that it is somewhat misleading and are investigating.0
