Morning ladies! So things have taken a turn for the weird ion my house (if they could get any weirder) and I have discovered my dd is not pregnant (no wonder she didn't want me at the scan). Not sure what to make of it all...

So today is a fresh start for me. I intend to learn as of today how to keep my head and not be consumed by the choas that surrounds her, be loving with her, generous with my time if she'll let me, and be firm with my boundaries. No mean feat!! If I want a change then I need to be the change!

So back with the DFW after being derailed there for a while... This wkend:
    • [STRIKE]finish flylady bits I didn't during the week[/STRIKE] hse clean and tidy with the promise of the bath & sink to be done later by ds
    • [STRIKE]dinner from plan, mmmm enchilliadas :D[/STRIKE] actually went out for a meal - cost the 2 of us £35 (not money saving but very needed after the last couple of weeks)
    • [STRIKE]go for a walk and a drink with oh[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]scrabble nd wine at some point[/STRIKE]
    • more gardening/repotting - this could keep me busy all over the summer! a couple of plants repotted, still more to go
    • [STRIKE]check ebay :D[/STRIKE] continually!
    • go play tennis :D
    • go to the gym & for a sauna :D
    • [STRIKE]check fridge/stores and make meal plan for next week[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]shopping online at Asda using £10 off first delivery[/STRIKE] - online shopping is so labour intensive!!!
    • [STRIKE] hm bread[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]sunday dinner at in-laws :D[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]3x hc[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]put away mountains of clean washing[/STRIKE]
ooo lots of things to make me smille!
making my way very nicely through the weekend list :D

about to watch "The hangover" with oh & ds :D

    • Check banks - just steeling myself for this oh dear
    • surveys tinternet playing up , can't get links to work
    • competitions as above , managed a few, try later
    • Bins outlater tonight
    • Have got an ASOS discount code , don't think I want anything but will have a looknot going to risk looking, will save the email as i have a few months
    • Chat to freinds on free texts not feeling too chatty tbh
    • Keep an eye on ebay - not much happening at the moment should have a few pounds in coffers soon
    • List some more stuff on Ebid maybe later
    • General sort out sorted some stuff for charity shop
    • Decide what to do with back garden - the 'grass' is merely weeds and dandelions and a nightmare to cut. I was saving for a garden makeover involving flagging or gravel but i reckon it will be next year before i can afford it. Hmmmmm what to do ? Think i will speak to my uncle, he has a lovely garden .
DNM might be worth getting your DD to have the implant fitted. My DD now has this and I only have to worry about stds now.

WoooHoo my 200th post. Celebrated by telling DD we did not have enough money for a bottle of lambrini

    Second update of the day:

    Initial list:
*signed up with valued opps. Hopefully some surveys will come my way soon.
    * got a DVD for OH for christmas for £2.35 online (was on offer reduced to £2.85, also used 50p discount coupon and comes with free delivery too :D). May let parents pay me for this for them to give him.
    * will do some washing (DH out of shirts) one load done, but can't find all the dirty shirts - all discarded upstairs, not in laundry baskets so need sorting out of heap :(
    * am doing a little bit of decluttering mostly failed at this TBH

    Update1:
    * got marmalade and butter on jeans, so had to find enough to go in with them so not yet put shirts on. Shirts will have to be found and washed when jeans are finished.
    * Have also ordered another bargain dvd set for Dad (already have a grabbit T shirt for him so have birthday and christmas sorted now unless I use one for Fathers Day).
    * went to Aldi and got a thermos flask for food reduced to £3.99. Am going to try taking porridge to work instead of a yoghurt for brekkie. Want to see if I can get DH to do this too, but they only had one flask left
    * have decluttered a bag of stuff, so not a huge result but as it is first weekend with no studying, I've been a bit lazy.

    Update 2:
*have signed up for topcashback after getting someone to refer me so they get £1
*have got a referral for onepoll (50p for them this time).
*have entered a tesco comp and am doing 20 mins of comping.
Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.

ooooops , have somewhat overcooked the lamb :o

Have been busy looking at my snowball and updating it. I have managed to pay £3000 off my debts since December and my debt free date is now April 2014.

This may still change as in 14 months my income will drop and I will have to rebudget. However this is giving me hope , I know that there will be a point in the future where I will be debt free :)

    Hi all

Nomorespending - could you get someone to housesit and watch the dog? Tripto France sounds good, though I know what you mean, not strictly essential. Could you offset a bit of the money on cheaper food / booze etc?

    Anyway! . . . .

    - went for a run
    - went to a free open day at Clifton Rocks Railway - fascinating!
    - cooked a big chilli for the week in the slow cooker
    - made flapjacks as snacks for the week rather than buying cereal bars
    - made sandwiches for work tomorrow
    - read a bit of How I Lived a Year on Just a Pound a Day by Kath Kelly

Does anyone know of a susbstitute for nail polish remover? I've run out!

    Have a good evening!

    Picasso2 -

Going totally off topic here.. - I see in your sig you're looking to go to see the Northern Lights. I am also hoping to go this autumn/winter and am curious at your £1500 target for this. Is it Norway you are going? and is £1500 for two people?

I've not started looking at prices yet, but i've heard Norway is extremely expensive and was contemplating going to Iceland instead. Just wondered if you had done any planning yourself and if you can recommend any websites/companies?

    Now back to the thread...!

  • HEY AOB.... Yes I know - getting someone to house sit woud be ideal - or a friend to look after the dogs would be great - but there are 2 dogs - my sister would have them but she is in france most of the summer as she is a teacher so tends to go out there most of the hols my parents would also have them but again they are out there. OH is very funny about the thought of having a stranger in the house so thats a no go in terms of getting proffessional pet sitter in. We don't know any youngish but responsible people who would appreciate a free house for a week / couple of weeks. OH has said no way to proper kennals which are relitively cheap as hes not prepared fro dogs to be in cages, and there is a place near by but its £15 per dog per night - whilst I said that we coudl probably find a way he has said that its too much money that we don't have so we've had a bit of a disagreement about it now. I do understand what hes saying but i don't think he gets how stressed I am with work ( he should do as he works under me and he sees how much I have to take on and how many people I manage - his job is zero stress) . If i offer to pay for the posh kennals he's go for it - but they are his dogs too and I don't see why I should foot the bill.... Rant Rant Rant... I feel totally fed up with the whole thing now so probably won't book any flights ( which if i don't do soon the prices will go right up) and if i don't sort anything nothing will be sorted .

sorry for the very long rant - Its just causing me a lot of stress and I know I should be grateful we even have the option to go away - and i don't mean to sound like a spoiled brat - its just sometimes fighting so hard to get out of debt is a bit soul destroying. I work really hard, very long hours and have a really decent salary, yet no money because I'm ploughing everything off my loans - loans that I took out to buy ex partner out of the house he contributed nothing to in the first place... Ohhhh sooo bitter!! I am just greatful we never got married ( cancelled it a month before when I found out he had very bad gambling problem) .

I MUST put back on my positive hat and think about how lucky I am to be in a position to be paying off my debts and gettign back on track. I'm sure if we don't go away I can take a week off at home and enjoy the garden!

    xx

Have decided not to go to the interview on Tuesday after discussing it with OH and feel much better. I think I've applied for it out of a sense of panic and don't really want to work there - sod's bloody law, it'll be the one that offers me a job and I don't want it!
So I'm not going, so there!

Have just had a lovely long bath and used a load of scrubs, masks, bubbles etc and am now officially the cleanest person in town!

Today I have had a good MSE day due to being so tired.

Party was brillant, we could have done with about 10 more people, asit was a barn dance.

    Today I have

    - Daily cards
    - Eaten some of the left over food and drink from the party, still loads of things to eat and put away
    - Went to Sainsbury and only bought what I needed, cycled so free too.
    - Done 2 Comps, fingers crossed.
