does it rile you because you want to be able to say 'so has my son'? or maybe because you feel your son is being treated less fairly by the school and the other mum is rubbing your nose in it? All perfectly normal feelings, but this is a short term thing. Your clever son, left happily out of the limelight , will be successful in longer term achievements, then its your turn to smile. And as long as he is happy now and fulfilled by his sport and popular with his peers, as he obviously is, try to ignore her, as that is the only life she has, enjoying vicariously the g&t of her daughter, poor shallow lady.

Sorry but I think that's a bit harsh, being proud of your children isn't shallow.

Part of being a parent is taking pride in what your children achieve.

    Hi all!

Went for a lovely appointment today with ever such a nice bloke...however, we have an issue in our office with someone causing a lot of friction-I think she heard me trying to assure my other friend that she really doesnt mean to be horrible...oh dear...

SRM-I am sorry you are so upset-as a Mom is AWFUL isnt it when you think your child is being looked over/hurt etc. makes you want to wrap them in your arms and protect them.

I htink mrsI was commenting on the 'rubbing your face in it' part rather than the being proud of your kids as a concept...

dont have a go at us blokes getting broody :p

i get broody everytime i get home and have a big cuddle with my wee one (i would have loads of babies if the Mrs would let me)

i especially like it now she has decided that Daddy must take her to bed at night and we have a loverly cuddle read of a book and a big kiss :D

also really nice in the middle of the night (weird i know) when she wakes up and she shouts for daddy and not mummy

yes yes yes i know i am a big softy when it comes to my little girly, i think shes already realised its in her best interest to be a daddys girl :o

Of course being proud of your children is normal and natural whatever their achievements, but so is considering the feelings of other people, ie SRM.
It was not my intention to be harsh, but if thats how it came across to you Pooky then of course I will bow out

I would love another baby-my baby is 5 at the end of the month but I am too old now...and the reality of actually having to go through pregnancy just about makes me want to top myself.

    MrsI-stick around babe x
