Thanks for the thoughts all-like I said,I've no idea why it riles me,it just does! He is a happy rounded lad,but I think he would be secretly pleased to be recognised for something, rather than the same kids over and over again...he is far happier tinkering with cars at home than playing cricket or whatever for the school-I hjust feel that he is missing out on something.Anyways, rant over...
Pooky-you feeling any better today?Debt-free...and staying that way...0 -
Good news from the doctors LMC!
Katsu, great that it's nearly done, and it was really good of Luc to help you.
LMC, I'm not sure where the book shop idea is, I'm waiting for Business Link to get back to me. According to the people on the Small Biz board I wouldn't cope with it and it's not viable anyway. But I always knew it was pie in the sky. I've actually got another idea for a business I'd like to start, but it's more community based (so an area I have more experience in) and would need support from places like the Council, and start up costs would be horrendous without that. I can talk to Business Link about that too I guess.
Anyway, today I'm not feeling too good so I'm going to mooch on here and read my book for book club on Monday.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
does it rile you because you want to be able to say 'so has my son'? or maybe because you feel your son is being treated less fairly by the school and the other mum is rubbing your nose in it? All perfectly normal feelings, but this is a short term thing. Your clever son, left happily out of the limelight , will be successful in longer term achievements, then its your turn to smile. And as long as he is happy now and fulfilled by his sport and popular with his peers, as he obviously is, try to ignore her, as that is the only life she has, enjoying vicariously the g&t of her daughter, poor shallow lady.0

Afternoon - just popping on in lunch break. and blushed to see thisI just have to say Luc is fantastic :T
Are you felling better Pooky - a visit to the doc for both of you might curtail DDs discomfort...
Elfen - glad things are moving forward so quickly and that Pint is being reasonable.
LMC - thanks for the mention:p hope you got all the bird poo off your car;)
SRM I would talk to the school and suggest it might be motivational to DS to me 'noticed' for once. Something like that can make a big difference to confidence. At the same time (as someone who was always perceived as the 'swot') being singled out on a regular basis as in any way different can be detrimental.... And it could be that your friend is pushy with the teachers so they pick her DD to shut her up...
Red - how many days until the new job starts?
Gonzo - enjoy your pizza!
Bunny - hope you got a decent kip last night
Mrsinvisible - welcome back!
Ames - how was the drum lesson? Are you back to italian yet?
Jinky - hello if you're lurking;)

Well if your new colleagues are half as nice as mine you'll be sorted. One of the guys here went and bought 2 bottles of diet coke so I could get the freebie nail polish. He even paid for the coke (i offered) and took the polish to the counter himself:rotfl:26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Luc, the drum lesson went really well. A bit too achey to practise today though. I'm not back to Italian yet, I'll be starting that again in September when the course starts again.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Just had a phonecall from Business Link, they're going to send me details of a couple of courses I can go on to find out about running my own business and see if any of my ideas are viable.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
