Aldi, Lidl & Netto, me too. Can I moan a bit here? Could ALL people who frequent these stores PLEASE pay immediately the till gives the receipt. OR alternatively put your card in as soon as advised. The amount of time I spend while (generally) elderly women f*nny about with their purses looking for the odd penny while the stuff they have bought lies on the counter, THEN start to arrange these items nicely into spaces in their bags while the cashier, and the rest of us, patently awaits them to pay the bill! PAY THEN PACK, but do it out of the way of the next person. .
you should try explaining to customers to pack on the bench once payed, the customers i explained it to were either thick or it just didnt regsiter with them, they give a weird look as to say "what the hell are you on"0 -
It's the way the bottom of the trolleys catch the toes of my shoes that irks me. I have to walk strangely to avoid scuffs.
But there are baskets in both Aldi and Lidl where I am.0 -
Aldi in Hounslow used to have basket sized trolleys when I used to shop there. I thought they were brilliant as it was just perfect for a few items but you didn't have to carry it, just push it!
As for the put items in bag walking round. I once went it to asdas when DD was a baby and she was in her pram so couldn't carry basket so was putting the few bits I wanted in the pram basket under them pram. half way round a shop assistant approached me with a basket and the manager behind her, she sqaid that I had to put my shopping in a basket. I explained I couldn't carry basket and push pram but she just said that because of shoplifters I had to do this otherwise security wouldn't like it. I was mortified! I emptied my basket and told them I would go get my shopping elsewhere. On the way out Irealised this probably maybe me look even more suspect! lol0 -
Aldi not providing baskets are not helping wheelchair users who only want a couple of things and Mums with pushchair or prams. It is impossible to push a trolley and a pram and those wheel chair trolleys are lethal if the shop isn't big enough to negotiate round, it's like trying to drive an HGV round single track roads. It's a lot easier for the person in the wheelchair to hold the basket while the person pushing does the collecting, I know this from experience.
ML.He who has four and spends five, needs neither purse nor pocket0 -
Bolton Aldi have baskets but its the only one Ive seen.
Lidls dont have them either.
I have to shop on the spur of the moment as I have a phobia and Aldi's always lend me a £1 coin to get a trolley.
They have even let me use their toilet for my daughter!
Guess its the staff that makes that store.0 -
My local Aldi staff are lovely! Gripe about the trollies though - they are sooooo deep - a struggle for us short of legs.
Carry on with aldi though Claire Bear their products are superior (hasn't their new face cream gone straight to no 1?) And no it's not cheap. Infact when I lived in Spain Aldi was the dearer supermarket, you went there when you got paid. And in supermarkets in Spain there are lockers where you lock your handbag when you enter the store so you dont get rumaged by security.0 -
