Hi,
I too was taken in by this character, he was VERY professional and VERY convincing. I have even gone to the expense of gaining the Chauffeurs Guild certificate, at least now I'm looking for work again it is another string to my bow. I was a bit unsure but ignored my instincts as I needed a job and this was ideal. Dressed nicely, great pay, nice car to drive....too good to be true!!! YEP! Only decided to seek further when Chauffeurs Guild said they had enquiries about company but assumed they were on a recruitment drive ... some drive, we've all been taken for a ride!!
This man needs to be brought to justice and be in prison for a long time. We may not get reimbursed but I hope he gets his just rewards, long and hard, in more ways than one! Please, more people go to the police about him, newspapers and any publicity. Make people aware of who he is and what he is/was up to. The only way to stop low lifes like this. Write to your MP's and get vetting for people who advertise on the Job Centre Website. Thanks!! Sorry about the long rant!

I too am a victim of this scam. I borrowed £100 for the key retainer off my parents told all my friends about my new exciting job only to be made a fool of and i really hope the police catch this !!!!!! and bang him up for a long time and I was interviewed in manchster.

I have phoned greater manchester police today and I am going to the police station on saturday morning to make a statement. I just hope this scum bag gets what is coming to him and because of this low life I am £100 worse off with a wedding still to pay for and now no job.

He HAS been arrested. But it was on an unrelated matter and is currently in prison & has been for about two weeks. This info was from Sheffield Police.

hope this b;;;;;d gets what he deserves my partner has lost his job because of this scam . his bos told him today that hes not intresed why he handed in his notic but they wont resinder it so as of today he is out of work nice one mark shortland ,,, my partner has just got over cancer still having check up now where dose that leave us a s,,t load of bills and nothing to show for it ,,,maybe the house to go next OH THE JOYS OF TRING TO BE DECENT PEOPLE:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Give the police a ring there number is listed on this forum thats what i did they took all my details and asked me some questions about the interview and mark shortland

Hi all,
I was scammed by this man in liverpool have contacted Merseyside Police and they are talking to the police in sheffield, If anybody can send me details about this Mark Shortland I would be very grateful (moss4972@googlemail.com).

I attended the interview on 04th May But paid the money just after I got sent a letter by them, Im not botherd about losing the money just feel humiliated, I have also contacted WATCHDOG on the BBC so if everybody does the same we might be able to get him quicker,
