incheon/seoul airport is officially the best airport since 2005, i really like it along with dubai and singapore.
would disagree with schiphol - far from a good airport

How no-one has mentioned Zante airport yet is beyond me. When we were coming home at a silly time of the morning we had to sit on the floor outside the airport in rows as it wasn't big enough for us all to go inside the terminal. Then they let one flight in at a time. It's like a shed inside :rotfl:

Best one is Palma, probably because it was the first holiday abroad I ever had and it was amazing stepping out into the lovely warmth and seeing all the palm trees. I can't really remember any of the other airports I've been through so they can't have been that good/bad!
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

Not so much good or bad but one of the quirkiest has to be Gibraltar.....Think you are landing in the sea as that is where part of the runway is...and then the cemetary which runs along the side of the runway. There is a road across the runway which has to be closed each to a plane lands or takes off...Had a couple of aborted landings due to dog on runway and glass on runway after road traffic accident.....

You should try sailing just off the runway there especially when planes are taking off.

    Tricky wind:)
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

Or being driven across it (from the docks) and being told at the last minute it was a runway!

Favourite - McCarthy Alaska. Facilities zero except the new 2 seater outhouse might be finished by now. And a couple of benches.

Unfavourite - Paphos, for the reasons a previous poster has mentioned.
  • Would have to agree about Changi Singapore. I used the outdoor swimming pool during a transfer, which was lovely, and the orchid garden was pretty too.
Kuala Lumpur is also really good, and Jakarta was nice for how all the gates were set out (like little huts).

Manchester T1 & T2 are much better now all the renovations have been finished, and I’m quite happy that it’s my nearest airport.

I would definitely agree about the Greek island airports not being fit for accommodating the sheer volume of tourists. Corfu was packed, hot, dirty and refreshment choice was poor. But I think the same can be said of most ‘package holiday’ airports when you’re there in the summer months.

I’m also not a massive fan of Dubai airport. The last time I used it was 2 years ago, and I don’t think the new terminal was open then. It was extremely busy, and you had to be very lucky to find a seat in the business lounge. Its only redeeming feature is duty free!

The most interesting airport I’ve used is Dhaka in Bangladesh – it can be quite scary when you get there for the first time, but once you been there a few times, you get used to it. However, I have only used it while on business and so having use of the business lounge. Would not relish having to go through there as an economy passenger!
Common sense just isn't that common any more....

My favourite airports have to be Keflavik airport in Iceland, Amsterdam Schiphol and Dubai International Airport.

Worst Airport has to be Toulouse and Toronto Pearson National Airport

What are your favourite / worst airports?

I actually quite like Toulouse. There's a pretty reasonable restaurant on the higher level overlooking the apron.
