The Debt Monster Must Die!

Hello :hello:
Ooooh, Borneo. I'd love to go there and see the orangutangs, spot of diving, jungle river trips... t'would be marvelous indeed. Is it the Malaysian side you're going to, or the Indonesian, or both?
Would quite like to go on your trip too now. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Temptresses the lot of you, am beginning to suspect this is some sort of complex test set by my monster. C'mon, fess up. None of you are actually going anywhere are you, tis all some monsterous ploy to see me pack in my job and go spend loads of cash I don't have
Malaysian side. I am going over there for two months to do volunteer work with orangutans. Most of my travelling so far has been based around volunteer work and I've really enjoyed it.
Could it be you're monster is just that cunning...;)Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

Is that the Sepilok place? If so will be really interested in hearing your thoughts on the work they do when you return.clippy_girl wrote: »have you made a decision about where you are going keebs?
Sort of, am thinking Myanmar (Inle lake, Mandalay, Mrauk-U and maybe one other place) and Cambodia (Angkor and maybe Battambang or one of the more remote temples) but until the flights are booked who knows. Also depends on the upcomming election as well I suppose, not that I expect the Junta to be going anywhere (how great would that be!) alas
How long until your trip now? Is it South America or South Africa you're off to?0 -

*sneaks onto diary somewhat shamefaced*
Ahem. This has not exactly been a particularly good money saving day for me - my monster took me shopping
Here follows a list of my sins (and subsequent [STRIKE]excuses[/STRIKE] reasons):
Intellichef (have been saving for this, so only £30 came from extraneous sources :A)
2 x Daylight bulbs
24hr socket timer (for makeshift daylight alarm in conjunction with above)
Duvet (washable, I need this as elderly cat getting very bolky these days)
2 x pillows (see above)
Newton Faulkners album (have wanted this for nigh on a year now, worth every penny too )
Books – hey, self [STRIKE]indulgence[/STRIKE] improvement is important no
Salt cellar/box thingy
Fob watch (it came with 10 coloured holders, one for every mood)
Pockets now £200 lighter
However, at least monster is suitably sated and sat quietly belching in the corner. I on t’other hand am sated and belching for quite another reason. Have just finished gorging on home made sausage rolls as per Peter Sidwell which were, quite simply, divine. Not being a fan of fennel I used apple chutney instead (glad I picked out all the raisins though) and sprinkled sesame seeds on top. Nom nom nom!
Am sorely tempted by Joe Browns new range (haven’t bought any clothes in over a year now – unless you count one t-shirt from a hawker in Cambodia (which I, quite frankly, do not)). Keep filling my basket with about £150 of clothes, stopping for a reality check and then emptying said basket toot sweet. Must try and learn some sort of distraction technique for moments like these.0 -
