Too late for me as I've gone and got an eye test at the opticians, no 20/20 vision but at least my prescription hasn't changed so I don't have to spend out (around £300) for a new pair of specs. Hooray :T

    380 days to go :D

    50 day Challenge progress:

Chin improving but still keep worrying at the scabs, maybe if I were to float about in a pair of boxing gloves for a day or two it would get the rest it needs

NMC want £76 on Dec 1st, I have £30 so far _pale_

Have found some Burmese language software on amazon, not yet purchased though, let alone learnt :o

Off on annual leave this week so decluttering and inspiration board thing will be cracked soon ;)

    Must do better!

Carrot top experiment looked like a huge flop but there may be something interesting happening with one of the +ve ones so will keep at it.

Have just looked at my subscribed thread list and come to the realisation that I am a horrific thread killer. No less than 12 threads, which were roaring along, have come to a complete standstill as soon as I’ve subscribed

Last day of the virgin free scratch cards to day and I have amassed £9.90, minimum needed for payout is £10. How frustrating is that :rotfl:

Off to see what I can rustle up for dinner, haven’t been shopping this week so options looking a little slim (unlike my good self alas :o)

    Fabulous news :j

£300 is a rather eye wateringly high price *sigh* if only it weren't so essential that we were able to see :rotfl:

What a cheerful post, really made me smile. Thank you :D

    378 Days

Woohoo! For once it seems my lazy daisy nature has paid dividends. Remember the £9.90 in bingo money? Well, I deemed it too much of a faff to add funds in order to withdraw so decided to play through and, low and behold, that £9.90 is now £56 :T

So, that’s my professional fees paid and some over to put towards couriering the kit for kids down to London (t’was beginning to look like a spendy operation so hurrah for VB).

Now, really must do some tidying, practically have to vault over the piles of boxes to make my way to bed these days. Not exactly conducive to restful nights sleep I’m sure you’ll agree, especially as am still sharing my bed with the dratted printer (which, to add insult to injury, doesn’t even work as have just discovered I’ll need to re-mortgage a small country in order to buy ink for the blimmin thing – and I currently am without access to small countries alas).

By turn of midnight tonight I pledge to have found a proper home for all the clutter or it goes out of my life for good

Has anyone read the weekly email yet? I have and am astounded at the claims made from last weeks vote: 47% of women HAVE paid for cosmetic surgery. What complete b*****ks, is it possible the folks at MSE towers have a complete inability to grasp basic mathematics (for this is not the first time they have made ridiculous claims based on the outcome of a poll), or is it just another indication of the lazy and sensationalist journalism that abounds today?

Given the nature of the site I suspect the later option, which is a shame as it undermines the good work this site does. Shame on you MSE reporters :(

Whilst I’m in a mood for griping I’d also like to express disgust at the inappropriate use of mobile phones. For those of you unsure I can confirm it is certainly not appropriate to carry on a conversation over your mobile (about Eastenders, life and death stuff clearly ) whilst (as an inpatient) your consultant is trying to do his daily ward round.

It is however entirely appropriate for your staff nurse to remove the offending telephone from your right ear (after repeated polite requests to discontinue said conversation re Eastenders has failed to elicit any kind of response) and advise your caller that it was an inappropriate time (ward round, other patients around you very ill - really I shouldn’t have had to spell it out) and you would call back once you had made your way to the day room. Furthermore, threatening to self discharge over the incident will only leave you looking like a fool.

    *and breathe*

OK, so got that out my system. Feel better now.

On a money saving note I have spent nothing today but that will change as am off grocery shopping later. Have been a trifle lackadaisical of late in taking a list with me but am down to my last £17.50 so must ensure I do so tonight.

    Oh yes and….

    377 days to go :D
  • Wow keebs nice to see you and yes i can totally agree :D re mobile incident !! the rudeness however i suppose when the consultants mobile goes off and they take the call it probably annoys them too lol ... the red in my face when i have said to visitors you shouldnt use a mobile phone around such machinery low and behold consultants phone goes off and they pick up lol

Hows the battle with the debt monster mine is slowing since its xmas and gift shopping is due and so fourth and so fourth next year im hoping i have accomplished much more on the pay off scale for this is a long journey thats really beginning top pish me off xxx

Hi Happytogetdebtfree, good point re the consultants and their phones. Although, they at least are taking work related calls I suppose.

Have you got your Christmas off duty yet? Am curious as to how other areas work things, we're supposed to work one and not the other but rarely works that way due to staffing levels. I'm down to work Christmas day and Hogmanay, but none of the paid public holidays, bit annoyed as there are a few staff who are working neither of the actual holiday shifts but are working the paid holidays but hey ho, at least I've got some of the holidays off.

Must be honest and admit the fight against the monster is a little lackluster at the mo. Will be happy if it works out even stevens by the end of the year, there are just soooooo many beautiful christmas things to buy just now :o

It can be hard keeping motivated but remember to stop and reflect on how far you've come already. Put to work all those positive affirmations from The Secret and see how quickly your coffers fill :D
  • we word 1 major and 1 minor only .. so i offerred nye nights and nye day nights im off all over christmas :D yay x
