Hopefully, if enough people read this thread, we might find someone who can help. I wonder if there are any policemen or policewoman reading this thread who could advise on how to list a missing person.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Good news!!!
A very helpful person who has read this thread has supplied me with Gordon's address. (well we think it could be his address..will have to see if we get a reponse)
Unfortunately there is no telephone listing for the address, so my Daughter is having to write to him.
I just want to say a BIG thankyou to everyone who has replied with suggestions.
My heart is warmed to know that people DO actually still care about one another!!
I have had lots of lovely private messages, with words of wisdom and support and I just hope that the situation will be resolved..one way or another, soon.
I will post as soon as I know if the address was correct and we know some more details.
God bless you all.

Hi
My ex husband has gone missing and has been for nearly two years now, and I am afraid that he may be dead.
He is a traveller and was apparantely going to Mexico in November 2004. He has not been heard of since.
He had also arranged to meet some friends in Thailand, last year, but did not show up.
This is totally not in his nature, to not get in touch with our Daughter, who is his only living relative. She is very worried, but is banging her head upon the proverbial brick wall, as no-one seems able to help.
She has approached the police, but was told that he needed to have an address that he has gone missing from...she doesn't have one!!
She has telephoned the pasport office, to try to find out if he actually did go to Mexico in the first place and they won't help.
She has contacted the foreign office and was told that if she didn't know where he was, they couldn't help!!
Obviously, she is now very concerned, as we all are, but do not know what to do next.
He had been living with a friend in Blackpool, when my Daughter last heard from him in October 2004. We have just learned of a possible address for his friend, through another thread I posted on this site.
My Daughter is going to have to write to him (no telephone listing for the address, unfortunately)
Hopefully he might know where my Ex travelled to first.
If any one has any ideas or suggestions at all, please let me know.
We are now at our wits end.
Many thanksWhen life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
Maybe, if a member of the police force is reading this they could advise you on how to list a missing person. I can't believe that they weren't more helpful when your daughter contacted them.
Maybe, if you tell us your ex-husband's name someone here might recognise it.
My thoughts are with you. This is a very worrying situation.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.

Hi I don't know if this is of any use re the Mexico possibility

I also looked on Interpol but I don't know if they'd be of any help unless your ex had been arrested.
Have you tried the UK prison population as a starting point, I think that you'd find out by contacting the Prison Service, just a thought.

This might be a long shot but I have done some travelling in the past and I am a member of the Virtual Tourist website. Regular travellers on that site all know each other and if they are travelling to the same area they will meet up. So I don't know whether it would be worth joining it and contacting some of the people who have been to the places you think he might have been. Heres the link http://www.virtualtourist.com
