  • Not sure if it's been mentioned but is it possible to look into whether he has used credit cards/bank cards at all?

The banks will not give that information out to anyone other than the police!!

Trying to send you a PM but your mailbox is full. :)
  • What about putting a classified ad' in the personal messages column in the local Blackpool paper asking his friend to contact you ?
  • Try phoning the local Radio station, see if they can put a message out for you. No doubt that the taxi driver, will more than likely listen to the radio whilst at work, so might hear it.

If still no luck with the police try contacting your MP. He may be able to give you some more advice and names of other organisations in your area. You never know he/she might even contact the chief constable.

My local mp helped me out when i had a problem where eveyone else seemed to be against me. (my problem was miniscule compared to yours)

Good luck, my thoughts are with you and your daughter.

    Keep strong

  • Thankyou all so much for your suggestions and thoughts.
It is very heartwarming to think that there are people out there who care enough to want to help.
We are going to contact my Daughters MP and she is also going to contact the radio station in Blackpool.
We hadn't thought of this idea, so putting up this post was really useful.
I have tried to do things on her behalf...but because I am the ex wife, people automatically think you are out to cause some sort of trouble.
I just want to put my Daughters mind at rest..or help to find out what has happened to him.
Any more useful suggestions will always prompt me to hit the thankyou button...as I really do appreciate all of your help.

Don't know your financial situation, but have you thought about hiring a private detective? If you tell him you don't care how he/gets the information you just want him found (they are normally ex-police etc who have a network of official and unofficial sources).

Many thanks for that, but cannot afford to do this and neither can my Daughter.

The best man (my ex's friend) is Gordon Dickinson...about the same age

Gordon used to be a self employed shop fitter, but I believe he is now a cab driver.
(Before you all ask me to check out the cab companies in Blackpool.....there are far too many of them!!)

If he is a registered taxi driver surely the local council should have a list of all permit holders, regardless of how many companies they have been scattered around. I know taxi drivers frequently move around a bit from company to company but they take their permit (and it's registered number) with them. Try the local taxi federation and see if they can help and, if they think the ex-wife is always sure to be trying to cause trouble, get your daughter to do it. Doubt if they would hand out his details but they may be willing to forward a note on your behalf if you explained.
