Gordy -great to have some good info rather thn a slnging match. It should take no longer than 1 hour to deliver 120+ books. To collect them should take no longer the 1.5 hours. (I am being very generous with the time scales).
Wow, this seems quite ungenerous to me.
Delivery 30 seconds per book???
I guess if you have an estate on your doorstep it might work, but surely you have to spend some "dead" time hear between streets.
I haven't done it but to me this seems really tight.Deliver orders associated with 50 books - 10 mins.
12 seonds per delivery !!!!
Wow
I have no axe to grind, but your timescales seem really very short to me.
Are you assuming everyone has a densely housed territory?0 -

Sorry I should have made it more clear.
The area I operate is mainly terraced housing and the catalogue delivery timescales are based on that.
Delivering the goods - based on orders associated with 50 books is refering to the orders received from 50 books which would be 4 or 5 orders. These would all be in the same vicinity.0 -
Speaking as a potential customer of Betterware, Kleeneze or Avon - my opinion would be none are better. The catalogues that come into my house go straight in the bin. Unsolicited goods -mine to do with what I want.
I know most people I know feel this way!
If I want to buy junk, I go to the pound shop. If I need ot buy buy anything better I buy from the internet or city centre. I never have and never will buy from these catalogues. I don't know who does.
I happen to know someone that was involved in Kleeneze a few years back too. I won't even start on my opinion of it based on what I saw of his venture!
Let the games begin!I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -

Nice little earner for Kleeneze.
Kleeneze current turn over is approx £60 million .
20 per cent of that is £12million which is being surcharged at 1.5 per cent. Which brings in £180,000 per year extra which is being paid by the. distributors.:eek:0 -
I used to do Betterwear many years ago,I started with one area which wasn't on my doorstep, had to use the car to get there, and then proceeded to take on another two areas further afield as our recruiter thought we were doing OK and said we could earn more in a new area, helped with my OH by the way. It was hard work delivering catalogues, about 400 in the end and then collecting them, going round twice to collect the stragglers,we then had to collect the orders and take them home to sort them out and then deliver them to people, some times they weren't in and we had to go back again and some times a third time. Some times they didn't have the money and could we call back and some times they had changed their mind and didn't want the stuff. We did it for about 6 months before packing it in,it was really hard work for 2 of us and by the time we got our commission it really wasn't worth it. I think if you only want to make a little money and you like walking in all weathers and it keeps you fit of course then by all means try it. After reading these messages I think Betterwear is the better company to work for. The books were free and no hidden charges. In the end I went back to an office job for a rest!0

ALL Credit card companies charge a percentage of the payment to the company processing the card no matter who they are, some companies pass this on, eg, airlines, travel companies, some don't.
All customers pay for their goods by either cash or cheque, personally I average about 3 or 4 cheques per delivery, sometimes more, sometimes less.
It depends upon the bank of course, but my bank (HSBC) credit's my bank account with the cheques straight away and then IF any bounce, and I have had no more than a dozen in 9 years, they then take that money out again.
On the rare occasion I have had a cheque bounce I have always gone back to the customer and always got cash instead.
So therefore I have no problem paying Kleeneze by debit card (I have always done so anyway).
We get 2 weeks to pay Kleeneze so if you cannot deliver any order straight away you have plenty of time in which to do so.0 -
Hi everyone.
I would like to explain Betterware from my point of view and give my opinion on the pro's and con's of Betterware v Kleeneze. (I am a Betterware Coordinator)- Betterware - No joining fee
- Kleeneze - Minumim of £80 joining fee which includes 50 books. (Info given to me by a Kleeneze sponsor on the 13th May 2011)
- Betterware - Free Catalogues. Usually you will get 80 - 120 as soon as you start.
- Kleeneze - You buy the catalogues (Not confirmed but I believe it is £35 per 50)
- Betterware - your own set area where no other distributor will operate.
- Kleeneze - you can go anywhere you want (often 2 or 3 distributors working same area)
- Betterware - Free delivery of the goods to you by the coordinator who will try to arrange a suitable time.
- Kleenze - Goods delivered by courier and I believe (not confirmed) you pay a delivery charge.
- Betterware - minimum 20% commission on sales
- Kleeneze - minimum 21% commission on sales.
- Betterware - you must cover your allocated area and have a minimum order as agreed between the distributor and coordinator.
- Kleeneze - Not sure about minimum order but can pick and choose how much they do.
Betterware
If a distributor does the job correctly and is willing to work at it they can make a good wage.
I start distributors on nearly a weekly basis and most dont last because they are not willing to work. It should take no longer than 1 hour to deliver 120+ books. To collect them should take no longer the 1.5 hours. (I am being very generous with the time scales).
Do this 3 times a week (7.5 hours) and once established a distributor could expect to have around £400 of sales = £80 commission (actual figures based on my area over the last 12 weeks)
Here are my time scales of what can be acheived:
Pack 50 books - 10 mins
Deliver 50 books - 20 mins
Collect 50 books - 30 mins
Pack the orders associated with 50 books - 5 mins
Deliver orders associated with 50 books - 10 mins.
Based on national average order value of £1.04 per book taking into account of books not collected 40*£1.04 = £41.60
Commission = £41.60*20%=£8.32 (75 mins work)
Welcome Gordy2u, a couple of things though:
Yes you do buy the catalogues with Kleeneze but as a new starter in you place orders over a certain amount you get free boxes of catalogues from the company.
Kleeneze is 21% commission but you also get a bonus payment on top depending upon your volume of orders you place within a 4 week period.
Delivery is free for orders over £250, or if your a new starter lower in your 1st month.
Nice to read you have the same problems with new starters.0 -

That may be the case but Kleeneze have decided to pass another cost down to the distributor ,as if they have not got enough overheads already.0 -

Not if they simply pay by debit card / bank giro payment with the cash they have from the customer.0
