Kleeneeze or Betterware?

Speaking as a potential customer of Betterware, Kleeneze or Avon - my opinion would be none are better. The catalogues that come into my house go straight in the bin. Unsolicited goods -mine to do with what I want.
I know most people I know feel this way!
If I want to buy junk, I go to the pound shop. If I need ot buy buy anything better I buy from the internet or city centre. I never have and never will buy from these catalogues. I don't know who does.
I happen to know someone that was involved in Kleeneze a few years back too. I won't even start on my opinion of it based on what I saw of his venture!
Let the games begin!
Do you but junk from the poundshop mizzbiz???
Good for you if you can get to the city centre, what if you dont have the internet or transport???
You chose to shop where you want. Where do you fancy shopping Tesco's only???

ALL Credit card companies charge a percentage of the payment to the company processing the card no matter who they are, some companies pass this on, eg, airlines, travel companies, some don't.
All customers pay for their goods by either cash or cheque, personally I average about 3 or 4 cheques per delivery, sometimes more, sometimes less.
It depends upon the bank of course, but my bank (HSBC) credit's my bank account with the cheques straight away and then IF any bounce, and I have had no more than a dozen in 9 years, they then take that money out again.
On the rare occasion I have had a cheque bounce I have always gone back to the customer and always got cash instead.
So therefore I have no problem paying Kleeneze by debit card (I have always done so anyway).
We get 2 weeks to pay Kleeneze so if you cannot deliver any order straight away you have plenty of time in which to do so.
Betterware dont charge to use credit cards

It was hard work delivering catalogues, about 400 in the end and then collecting them, going round twice to collect the stragglers,we then had to collect the orders and take them home to sort them out and then deliver them to people, some times they weren't in and we had to go back again and some times a third time. Some times they didn't have the money and could we call back and some times they had changed their mind and didn't want the stuff. We did it for about 6 months before packing it in,it was really hard work for 2 of us and by the time we got our commission it really wasn't worth it. I think if you only want to make a little money and you like walking in all weathers and it keeps you fit of course then by all means try it. After reading these messages I think Betterwear is the better company to work for. The books were free and no hidden charges. In the end I went back to an office job for a rest!
Just to be a little pedanatic shirleymarye........ you said you worked for Betterwear many yaers ago.
Betterwear changed its name to BETTERWARE in the 60's
Sorry :rotfl:

Personally, I have seen many go down this path but it never pays off. With easy access to online shopping and site such as Ebay, door to door sale are a thing of the past.
I would look at going into affiliate marketing. Harder to get started for sure but with the right products and know how, you can make it succeed.
I use products found in Clickbank but use a Firefox plugin that helps find the real fast selling products.
As a new user I am not allowed to post links but I would be happy to email anyone the link to the plugin if they PM me.
Betterware doesn't have a parent company. It is owned by Andrew Cohen

Well I quite like Avon (no connection).
Their products are well priced if you shop sensibly i.e. buy when it's half price, but still good quality - so for example shampoo for £1.
Some of their products have won awards.
You can also send any of it back no quibble - so if you don't like the colour of a lipstick you've tried you can return it. I've returned a few things and the reps have been lovely.
There isn't anywhere else where you can return makeup to my knowledge.
The stuff in the Keeeneze catalogue looks overpriced and I'd rather shop at Lakeland than go to Betterware/Kleeneze.
Lakeland aren't cheap but they also do no quibble returns and their stuff tends to be high quality.
Theres a no quibble 12 months gauantee on all products @ Betterware lisyloo so would have to disagree hereslightly
I cant explain why 90% of comparable goods that Kleeneze sells are MORE EXPENSIVE than the same as Betterware. This fact is from the core catalogue not sales leaflets

Hi John.
Are there lots of personal expenses involved in running a Betterware round like there are with Kleeneze?
Do they keep changing there cats like Kleeneze ?0 -

You say they don't last because they are not willing to work. But the reality is the orders dry up very quickly and they simply give up.
So you have to recruit another person to take their place, about one a week according to you.
The reason why you recruit is because you have learned that there is no regular money in putting books through doors, but there is money in recruiting other people and taking a cut of what they make until they realise there is no regular income from it. Then you just move on to the next [STRIKE]mug[/STRIKE] recruit.
Think this person is a Betterware manager geordie joe, their main role is recruitment & not doing books
They do have options of doing the books if they cant recruit also which they will earn 31.2% + bonuses + incentives + it is still all free of charges
Its on their website.......
20% for agents
11.2% to look after their team of people
I reckon/I know a good manager will earn £15/20 per hour at least
I hope this helps

Hi wongawonga
The main expense as far as I can work out is for a Betterware rep is their free time. They try & give a rep an area to operate in as near as poss. Some people dont like their neighbours to know thay are doing a 2nd job etc. Some people invest in a stamp (Free @ Vistaprint + postage). 20% comm. + bonuses.
They work on a 6 week cycle so in theory Betterware produce a new book (Shop Window) every 6 weeks. They currently produce 9 books per year with the main core of the book the same which makes sense as that is what they sell
I just cant fathom out why people do Kleeneze as it seems pretty much a one sided result :rotfl:
