Sorry to hear that it hasn't turned out for you - we gave it a try and gave up within 2 months, thankfully we never wasted anytime trying to recruit anyone.

The only thing I can suggest is to get some of your money back is to sell the books & other bits you have left off - we sold ours on ebay - though I suppose with the new brochures coming out soon you won't get much for the brochures themselves, but any spare stationary & the resealable bags you should be able to sell. OH had a laugh when the guy who won them came to collect - saying how we should have given it longer...all the usual hype....OH just said no we're making more money with avon and its far less hassle so we'll stick with that. The kleeneze bloke wasn't impressed lol.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A
  • We aren't bothered to go through all that trouble, it's not just about the money it's the wasted time, I get such little enjoyment from it. It's just a grind, I feel embarrassed taking the orders around peoples houses, I feel I am ripping them off. Some people order once then don't bother again yet I take a book round every time. The sponsoring jsut goes no where, even if I were better perhaps at the presentations yet even my upline who has better results agrees that most drop out. Whats the point? If all I needed were five good people at this rate it would be years.

It's cost us a fair bit really, we never made much with retailing and it certainly never covered all the sponsoring expenses. If I were enjoying it it wouldn't be so bad after all I might get lucky but I doubt it.

If you were to add up the cost of your time, fuel etc., you would really depress yourself.

You have, in your two posts, summed up so much about the perils and pitfalls of Kleeneze that I know many other people will agree with.

No doubt, we will have the pro-Kleeneze posters coming on to refute everything. The snag with that is, they still insist they are right and everyone else is wrong even though Kleeneze's figures have been reproduced in another post on this thread and it isn't good reading. They are in a bad way and some of these people currently earning a lot of money off the backs of other people are in for a rude awakening.

I agree with you there Lozza. I have to admit, I'm enjoying doing Avon probably because I use and like the products myself so I'm quite confident when dealing with people. If you believe in a product yourself it is a lot easier to sell it to someone else as your enthusiasm rubs off on them. Not saying it will be plain sailing all the way but it has more of a chance of succeeding than Kleeneze ever did. It's more of a gradual build up too which perhaps is the better way.

Anyway, got my books to sort out for tomorrow as I don't have many days left before I submit my final order before Christmas :D
  • Jeanette - I've read through your superb post, it sums up almost perfectly the classic Kleeneze experience. Somebody once said that sponsoring into kleeneze was like filling a bath with a colander, more water runs out that you can save. More people drop out that stay in and it's an uphill struggle to stay in front. Get a gold off gaurd and they'll freely admit this. When they recruit and talk at meetings it's all so easy and they'll have X number of examples of people they have recrutied - what they don't say is how many on their team have dropped out. be in any Kleeneze team for more than 6 months and you can see the turnover of people, they are always *up and coming* *on their way to gold* but then they drop out. I've known people gain gold then never hit it again , they can call themselves gold but they can't hold it. I know of Golds who in their 5 -6 yrs have sponsored 150+ people but are still left with a hardcore of about 20 at anytime.

Yet they still chase the dream, the money and time and effort they have wasted over the years with nothing to show for it - you get these couples waving their £3500 income cheques, but they don't say it's their best cheque not their mormal one and after all the massive costs works out at less than 15K each but more like 12K given the bad months. They live in poor houses and have very limited lifestyles, a far cry from the riches and loads of free time for families that it's painted out to be.

As to retailing, with Kleeneze bringing the Xmas book out in August and running the Greeneze and Leisure books longer they nned to fill each period with something new or sales will flop. Jan sales books out next then the dead zone till Greeneze. It's never ending and if you are fighting off other distributors can be disheartening too. It's hard to know what to do - I was lucky to be offered another job and I jumped at it.

Well if you aren't enjoying it then it might be best to cut your losses. In the nice weather it isn't too bad but in the bad weather coupled with the poor returns and you wonder why you do it?

It's such a common story - and this is the kind of story refuted by Kleeneze as *Kleenze works it's people that don't*, they didn't **see the opportunity** .

Oh we've been through all the costs, we've made pin money really, even when we had people in the team. A couple of periods at 10% doesn't earnt that much for an upline. The idea we should carry on and on for years is just too much.

I've heard all that , we went to some really big seminars where whilst they fired everyone up it was made very clear that failing to get a sign up a week was our fault, we weren't committed enough we weren't really interested in our businesses and should leave straight away etc etc. Brainwashing at it's best.

Well I could buy a Kleeneze jacket and trousers to go out in! Something else to spend our fortune on!
