I use Daz - my dd has Eczema.
My Mil suggested it to me as my SIL suffers the same and it's the only powder she can tolorate. My beloved dog Molly27/05/1997-01/04/2008RIP my wonderful stepdad - miss you loads:Axxxxxxxxx:Aour new editionsSenna :male: and Dali :female: both JRT0 -
My sis has eczema, and my mum swears by persil non bio, but only uses about half the recommended amount. I have always used the same, OH was quite disturbed at first, but now he quite proudly tells people we only use a small amount of powder and our clothes are still clean!!
I am really sensitive to smell so wouldn't be able to do it if they weren't!!
Also second the milk thing - mum switched to organic milk and was convinced this helped my sis's skin and also my other sisters asthma!0 -
Another eczema sufferer here - I can only get away with using Persil non bio or Fairy non bio.0

Supermarket own brand non-bio - Persil used to do dreadful things to OH's skin and didn't even get things clean!
But if the OP hasn't yet found the National Eczema Society, I do recommend them!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

My s-i-l found the only one that didn't make her son react was the Boots non bio one for sensitive skin, I don't even know if it's still available, I never knew Boots did washing powder till we were asked to bring some over when we visited (she lived abroad, so had to ask visitors to bring some)
You could also try running his clothes through an extra rinse cycle to get rid of a bit more of the chemicals ( I say just his, as that would give the water loads of room to circulate.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

My 3 sons have severe Excema and Asthma,my Consultant has told me that DS1 is the worst child in our county...we were advised Fairy non bio and obviously no fabric condititioner but he was still really bad........we looked into this loads and gave Eco balls a try.....what a miracle...we use no wash powder at all now....nothing.....my sons are very allergic to essential oils so wouldnt risk this just for a smell....and it saves a fortune........anything very greasy...like their wraps are just washed at 60 degrees and all the grease is removed.Feeding 6 Adults 1 Teen a 8 year old with hollow legs and a very fussy 5 year old. We use Surcare. It's half price at Sainsburys at the moment, too, so may be worth a try. Boots sensitive is ok aswell. We used to use Persil non-bio but they changed the formula and now it is too perfumed for us. Good luck in finding what works for you. The eco balls sound worth a try. Thanks Mummyof5!0

Surcare and no fabric softner and we re-rinse everything, dry on the line not in tumble dryer. We have just gone onto this about 4 weeks ago my son is only 1.5yrs old and had widespread eczema. But now the skin is 95% better . we used Boots powder on ds1 but when i went in to get some the other week my local store said they have discontinued it.
A bit off topic, but still eczema related, We have also started to use LUSH dream cream and dreamwash on lo'.s skin (actually recommended by the dermatologist- she said many parents have had successs with this, especiallly if you dont want to go down the steriod creams route) Quite expensive at £9 a tub for each but the dreamcream is lasting 2-3 weeks and the dreamwash longer TBH i wouldnt care if it was £90 a tub the change is AMAZING. HTH someone!0
