I thought my mum would jump at the chance of saving cash but obviously not...quick fix up my rent, 3 fold!

I was thinking of flat/house share but most places don't accept couples...dunno why that is?

And we live in clevedon in and his parents live in bristol, and both work in clevedon so obviously costs in transport would go up mega bucks! :O(

    Oh that's a shame then :(

Have you tried looking on gumtree or a similar website? They have an option for couples in their search.

Hope I never slag off my parents on a public message board.

You lot sound as bad as each other.

And no way my daughter's boyfriend would be allowed to just move in, let alone at a peppercorn rent.

Time to grow up and stand on your own two feet.
    Been away for a while.

you need to move out and start being a grown up. Your parents need their own space too and believe me their bills will drop by more than £400 a month when you are both somewhere else. They are trying to shield you but they also need to untie the apron strings and so do you

You come across as incredibly ungrateful

If they struggle whilst you're living there how will they manage when you move out?

You obviously never read my post after my original then you would understand my circumstances....they asked him if he wanted to move in because of what happened I never asked and then as soon as he moved in they said irrelevant of whether he stays or not MY rent will be £100 a week from £35

Your parents financial commitments are not your concern and should not influence your decision. Clearly, the arrangement does not suit you for many reasons so move out.

My son pays me £300 a month. This is one third household bills [electric etc etc] and 1/3 food costs and an extra £10 for replacing the washing machine and vac which will need doing one day in the future. My "housekeeping" ie all bills ,elec, council tax etc, food, toothpaste etc i budget £900 a month. [£10,800 a year] 3 of us live in the house,my my husband and my son. If he needs running anywhere he gives us petrol money or goes by public transport. he is learning to drive and is paying for his own driving lessons. he buys his own clothes.
