I sum it up like this for the OP. You took a punt and it didn't pay off. With higher gains come higher risks.

It's great to benefit from free points with offers such as this. Personally I tend to stick to not buying a product just for the points unless I would buy it anyway. OR if I do buy the product just for the points then recognise the risks involved.

Buying 100 CD's just to give away to friends and exploiting a deal always had a high risk of failing. You really can't bleat on about how hard done by you are. You decided to take the risk and it didn't pay off, end of. I believe you have no redress here.

Sales of goods act has been mentioned. You didn't BUY clubcard points. You bought 100 CD's. You got 100 CD's. The point were never guaranteed.

We could all build up thousands of pounds in points and tesco could just close their clubcard scheme or withdraw the more lucrative 4x in deals and we would have no leg to stand on.

100 CD's indeed!!! That was like asking to be burned mate ;)

Who buys 100 cd's in 1 go anyway, OP did you not honestly think that buying a large quantity might be abusing the system and tesco woudl remove your points

I'd buy 100 CD's at a time if Tesco were promising to give me 500 CC points for every 2 that I purchased with no limits. I'd buy as many as I could physically get in my trolley. Not only would I buy them, but I would not think it was abuse either.

Why keep on about there was no limit on the amount you could buy.
Tesco's have not limited the amount of cd's people bought thats not the problem, the problem is they have took away the bonus points which it clearly states in the clubcard T&C's they will limit the amount of bonus points.

    So where is the argument.

Martin always says you can make £6 or £8 in profit when they do extra points he never says go and buy 100 plus cd's and make £100 - £1000 profit does he, no because chances are they will take back the points.

And you are missing the point altogether. Tesco CAN NOT legally turn around and say 'Joe Bloggs, youv'e earned too many points this quarter, lets take all your points off you...'

They may try to get away with it because people will, 90% of the time, roll over and take it but that does not mean that the terms are legally enforcable.

If you really think that this is a legal way of operating, I suggest you research it further.

I thought there was a blue CS sign in every store by CS that state 'only 6 deals per customer'? There is around here.

I suppose the OP bought 6 each visit knowing he would get around the 'rules'.

It had been nice to get the CC points deals back with things like this - they took them off last time people abused them. Guess that it will not be long before they start removing the good points offers again now.

OP I'd pop over to www.paidtoshop.co.uk for further advise. Someone on there was banned by Tesco (more than once) and had their points taken away. I undertand they took Tesco to court and won an out of court settlement for the value of the points. They do not delcare how much money they got, but they have obviously beaten the system.

However, I never abuse Tesco because of the risk of being banned. I try hard to keep under the wire, whilst still getting the best deals I can. I hold more than one card, so I can spread the risk around.

Paid to Shop memers (who are the best at the Tesco game) offer advice on the levels of points you should get per card, how many cards you should hold per household etc., before you come under investigation. You might want to go and check out their forum and keep under the wire next time.

When these CDs were on offer, I remember a person posting that her 500 points did not go on at point of sale & the response that she got from Customer Services when she queried it. They had tried to fob her off with the usual "oh, the points don't go now but you'll get them in your May statement rubbish & when she had said she wasn't happy with that explanation as the points had gone on at point of sale on other Cds she had bought that week and that therefore she wanted a refund because she was only buying them for the points, the Tesco person turned round & said "well you are not allowed to buy them just for the points!"
This really made me laugh. Who the hell do Tesco staff think they are? It is a free country, we are not living under rationing conditions and people are entitled to buy te CDS for whatever reason that they damn well choose. Tescos had the SELs on all these CDs, including the bargain ones, advertising these points and if they want to restrict the amount of points that they give away with them, then imho they need to clearly state this on the SEL, e.g. restricted to 6 per person. I agree that Tesco just think that it s a risk worth taking because most people will not take the time or trouble to prosecute them whenthey remove their points which imo were part of the sale of contract.

There is a 6 deal limit per person on deals so you'd not be able to buy 100 at a time and take them through the tills.

Unless of course you took them through the self scan checkouts - which of course would then be, er, abusing the system because you are doing that so you could get that many.
