i have to ring back and speak to someone. the person who took them away. i hope they are ready for a fight:p

Did you get a letter of explanation, or with a reference no to quote - i.e. at Clubcard they will find someone who has access to the 'file' via your details, then any Team Leader will be able to explain.

BUT look on the bright side - they may have banned you!

Note, to the concensus here is - judging by the replies that you did 'abuse' the clubcard system, is all very fine to take advantage of the offers - but it's not wise to take the p***

    Hi

Just wanted to let you know that my points total has been reduced a few times by tesco. All my points come from our normal grocery shopping, not offers of extra pointas etc!

When I phoned to complain they said they haven't reduced them and I must have misread the statement and thought I had more than I did!! We know this is not the case.

So this is just an example that tesco do not always play fair with the clubcard scheme.

I would sit tight if I were you.

It's the end of the quarter and funny happenings start to occur on account balances at this time.

I've had weird things happen to mine in the past and even ended up with a minus sign in front of my totals. My account is looking ok and I bought some of the offer cds - but not huge amounts.

I seem to have lost around 21000 points from my account also :-( got 2 receipts in front of me, 6/5/2010 says 26000, 8/5/2010 says 5000 :-(

If the statement had come off, surely it would be down to 0?

Sorry, I just see Tesco taking points off without good cause - and if they had such a deduction it could be seen by who you are speaking to.
    Possible answers:
    - A change of address that wasn't given - vouchers for a period sent to old address.
    - At the checkout, given the wrong receipt, gives the impression of a totally different points total - but its someone else's.
    - Using a temporary card for sometime before registering it - the process of converting points to voucher values still happens, its just that there's no name & address to send them to.
    - An item may have been returned, or order cancelled before delivery i.e. points awarded will be cancelled.

Statement hasn't come off yet, last collection day is today the 9th. Then it will be some days, while the points are still increasing on receipts, before the points are converted to voucher values.
21,000 pts in two months how did you accumulate so many!!??

Have heard of some who add on temp cards, which have points for inkjet cartridge returns on them - a prime candidate for deductions!

Just been buying stuff on direct. Pretty much anything with extra points! Thing is, it's not like i've been abusing the 2 CD's deal by buying 2 of the cheapest CD, or abusing a BOGOF deal, i've just been buying things that are 'Buy this and get 200 extra points' So i buy it. They want to sell it at that price, I want to buy it at that price... The idea of the promotional is obviously to sell more of that item, so surely it has worked? To then take away the points is not nice :-(

Assuming, the latest lower receipt has the same clubcard no on as the earlier i.e. is yours - then by all means give clubcard a call. Even, if it is bad news at least you know, and can then think of appealing!

Apparently my account is under investigation because I used 2 different credit cards! I pointed out that all the orders had gone through ok and paid ok and that the reason I changed cards is that I didn't want to go over my credit limit. I spent almost £1500 on Tesco Direct and also do my grocery shop, clothes shopping and photo printing with Tesco and now they are penalising me :( Doesn't seem like a great 'loyalty' scheme to me :(
