I don't like the blank shadow pictures if we haven't got avatars. Please take them off they look a bit disturbing.
Its is a bit garish and eye tiring but otherwise ok.This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

OOh I like it, I wonder what the possibilities would be for customizable colours for the members?
I still think the abuse button needs attention, its akward for many members as it goes through email apps, which Yahoo or Hotmail means a cumbersome copy\paste effort. Could the Abuse button not me addressed similar to the spam button. which is at least direct?

Hi folks,
Thanks very much for the feedback - and do keep it coming. The main issue here is the LOOK not the functionality
So things like the thanks appearing and disappearing, the spacing on signatures, the go button on forum jump etc, will all be sorted.
Plus the like button will be disappearing at some stage soon and we plan to use the thanks for the first post to be the new marker for the 'wow factor' which will replace the likeability rating we currently have (the factor element will ensure its relevant to the rest of that board - not just absolute thanks)
We're delighted to see that you like the new look overall - the aim is for this to be the core look and everyone will move to it, but with the option to switch back if you want.
ALso very long term we hope to go for a system where you can have more customisable looks (that was what the down time last friday was for, to allow us to have different options).
One thing I should say though - we're very mindful that the feedback here is from regular or at least semi-regular users and you are incredibly important to us.
However we also need to look at the users who never post, the huge numbers who come here from google - and part of what we're doing is trying to make it more obvious how the forum works for them too.

Do we really need the Thread Statistics box in the first post of a thread?
It does rather encroach on the width of the opening post; I personally don't care how many views the thread has got (but I guess I might if it's my own thread!); and the number of thanks in that Stats box only relates to the first post of the thread (not total for the thread) and that can be found underneath the first post anyway.

I hate the new look Martin! Sorry, but there are way too many forums that look like this, I find the old style much easier visually.
Don't forget that a lot of MSEers have sight difficulties and the new look may put them off the site. However, if the option to see it in the old style remains, then this should be ok.
Why the change, incidentally? Just curious. I always say 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' and imhp this definitely applies to MSE (a top site, but please no tinkering for the sake of it).Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

And do we really need to have buttons to share with FB/Twitter? Or is MSE just following the current trend of linking everything with social networking sites?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Sorry, but I am not keen on it. I don't like the statistic box at the begining, and i prefer nice clear lines, rather than lots of different blends of colour. It's very pretty, but difficult to read.
Also hate the Facebook/twitter links grr. What is wrong with copying and pasting if people really feel the need to share?0
