this thread is 3 pages too long for anything about the BNP party.

chucky i sort of agree with you. but when you are on the receiving end of racism it is less easy to ignore. when there is a political party that is attacking your right to exist in the country - and doing it in your neighbourhood in front of your children, your elderly parents etc. it is hard to ignore.

as someone who is the result of mixed race marriage and is in a mixed race relationship (if we are going to use terms like 'race') i fear the rise of racism in this country.

on the one hand people say you should stick up to bullies. and on the other they condemn a young man for spitting at someone who is attacking him and his family in a very real and public way.

    personally i applaud him.

Spitting is actually a form of assault, & can & should be prosecuted as such.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

    Who filmed this?

The young lads thinking it would be funny spitting in a politicians face and sticking it up on the internet, or a BNP party member filming for publicity?

Spitting in a persons face is disgusting, and the reaction of the BNP guy is human instinct which is very hard to control, the fight or fly instinct. In this case he fought, and the lad who spat at him got what he deserved.

I put a link on here earlier to the police website

    Deliberate spitting is assault!!!

I think all offences are still offences no mater of provocation or not.

    I'll accept it was provoked.

Do you think that assault is a proportionate response? I don't, and I don't think the courts would either.
