the bnp man has a bit of a heavy accent. whichever way it's still blatant goading. and it's not just this incident - the bnp (or national front as we know they really are) have been whipping up hatred in this area for years.

spitting might be gross but it's hardly the same as throwing a punch. although really disrespectful it's not going to physically hurt you.

i was spat on (more than once) at school for being gay. i didn't hit anyone.

and although i support free speech a lot of the bnp stuff is incitement to racial hatred.

Does that not depend on your background/religion?
I would not be that offended if someone threw shoes at me but for some religions that is worse than punch.

I am not a supporter of any of this but spitting in someones face I class would be worse than a punch.
Not to mention any diseases you can pick up from human saliva. (so physical harm is possible)

If someone spat at me I would punch them not spit back TBH regardless of race religion etc.
