Afternoon peeps.
JackieO -Great news - really pleased for you:beer:.
PenPin - thinking of you today
Diva - we miss you - hope are recovering.
Haven't been to vote yet but will link it to going for a little drinkie later then home to watch an evening of election TV. I'm quite excited (but not as excited as AnnieStar obviously:rotfl:)
Tea tonight will be rice and salad and maybe mozarella cheese for me (left overs from last night) and left over chilli on a baked potato for DH. Wine will be consumed over the evening:D
Wishing you all an enjoyable evening, whether you're watching election stuff, alternative TV or anything else

Hi Annie! I'm sure you won't read this 'til tomorrow, but just wanted you to know I've done my Civic Duty and posted. As a side not to this, I remember when the American Elections were on there was a lot of stuff about "celebrities" urging people to use their ballot, and get out and vote. I've seen nothing here at all. Then, on Sunday I was watching the American wrestling with the boys (WWE, WWF or something), for the first time. I had to supervise as I wasn't sure what it would be like, the answer being pantomime, anyway in between the "fights" the American wrestlers were urging people in Britain to get out and vote today! Some things about Americe I find really strange, but I really admire their sense of patriotism, and their belief in democracy, it's a shame that's been so diluted in this country. We are all so fractured, and suspicious of "foreigners" and so many people have a "them and us" mentality. I would gladly vote for a party which promoted creating a nation again, and didn't talk about getting rid of, or educating foreigners as their only solution to so many different social problems this country has, instead of embracing our differences, and turning it into a culture to move forward with Ooops soap box there. Sorry..It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Evening all
I have been on my Learning Coach course again (also a free lunch one!
), and it was good fun today. We finished at 2.30 which was great. However on the way home I picked up my minibus from another colleague who had borrowed it today and a few minutes down the road it started violently juddering :eek: It's my worse fear that the bus will break down! Luckily my colleague was 2 vehicles behind so he pulled over to help me. There was a Days garage a mile or so down road so we drove it there at 10mph and have left it there for them to sort out! Annoyingly it has really messed up my day for tomorrow as I really need a bus so my boss is trying to sort that out tonight, beg steal or hire one!
I have voted :T I'm another one who was on the fence, could not decide which of the big 3 were the lesser of the two evils. I decided in the end. I always feel like voting is a bit of an anti-climax, I was there all of 20seconds and the hall was empty bar the officials! I'd like to stay awake for the results but don't think I will. I am a Politics graduate so have an interest in it.
I need to decide what to have for tea. So tempted to order a takeaway as I'm all frazzled from the bus breakdown but I should eat something from cupboards/freezer.
Have a good evening all

D'you know what Flutterby, a takeaway sounds great, but I've got four pounds on me in cash and CBA going to the local cashpoint, so will ust eat what I've cooked. This is my new MS thing, not to have cash in the house. Working so far! XIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

evening all!
will go back and read the thread later on. Just got back from my first day at work for 2 weeks. Back is a little stiff but not too bad.Nice to see my friends.:) Nothing on the OS front other than the usual washing, tea thrown together from the freezer and house was already tidyish.
(((hugs))) to those who need one.
taplord and I will be voting later this evening.
One of our service users was adamant she wanted to vote so went and was taken in by one of the helpers at the polling station so there could be no chance of us doing it for her. Last time she also voted - went into the polling station and announced at the top of her voice"I'm voting labour":D
The other service users have got ballot cards but are not really capable of making a choice.
Redruby - hope your tooth is ok. x
will pop back later xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Well i've done my civic duty, dragged the kids + extra to the booth. All three kids complained and i suggested to them all to sit down, be quiet or i'll vote for a party which do nothing for them.
I sauntered into the room, the two polling officals looked at me shocked and said "my god woman never seen three kids so quiet". Obviously the kids listened to me, to my shock :rotfl::eek:.
So now that's my bit done, had a conversation with another pollster about politics, now just waiting for OH to come home so he can go and vote. We both decided, that HE was going to vote this year, instead of just me.
Just hope tonight goes well now.0 -

Ah but you can order online and pay by card so that doesn't work for me!! I still haven't found anything to take my fancy but I'm going to try and resist the takeaway as I do not need to spend money and consume even more calories than necessary! :rotfl:

I wouldn't have thought of that, I don't think the local curry house does that though, just Dominos Pizza Hut etc. Beans on toast, that's noce and easy and nutritious and will fill you up! Then if all your young people tomorrow annoy you on the bus you can refuse to open the windows!
:oDid I really just say that? I've been living with smelly boys for too long:oIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Been to visit baby Marcie - shes lovely, just looks like her mum with a thick head of black hair. She was so quiet and good, my boys were in special care and they were not that still!
Thankyou all for your comments - between us me and OH have 22 neices, nephews and great ones, but I feel old (only 33) being called 'Great' auntie Linda!
Apple crumble in the oven - shepherds pie went down well, even the boys ate it!
Enjoy the rest of election night xxMum, wife and dinnerlady!0
