Jackie, does your local breast care unit have a family history nurse? I see mine every 12m, as my mum, her only sister and their father's sister had breast cancer & secondaries, and my/my mums consultant put me onto their scan, check-up and mammogram list at 41. I used to go every 2 years, but in 2008/9 it changed to every year.
Been to visit baby Marcie - shes lovely, just looks like her mum with a thick head of black hair. She was so quiet and good, my boys were in special care and they were not that still!

Sounds like she is very content.

Right, am trying to make up my tuck bag for counting later....had a bath this morning so I have got clean toes in case I need to take my socks off :D DS2 has just informed me that my town are due to declare at approx. 2.30am...assuming we dont' have any recounts in either of the 2 constituencies we are counting - and apparently one of them is number 79 on Mr Cameron's marginal seats hit-list ;)

I feel old (only 33) being called 'Great' auntie

I'm feeling your pain there, at 27 I'll have been a great auntie for 3 years in November!:eek:

    Enjoy spoiling the little bundle!

 Back again. Have decided not to go to a count. Don't want to go to my "old constituency" and have no desire to go to the count for this seat .
Anyway, back in good old Manchester now. First indications would point to a high turnout:j Have been to ASDA an stocked up on mars bars(and loads of other carp but don't tell anybody:o:o) Got a 12 pack of chocolate iced doughnuts for £1 (Mark really likes them-honest)

I also feel sick round now I always do at this stage.
There is nothing that can be done so we just cross everything and hope things work out. Made a olive, red & yellow pepper and tomato salad with a lime, lemon and parmesan dressing. Was nice but the parmesan was a tiny bit clumpy. Had some with the pizza and have some left over for munchies later.

Have washed the few pots there was and have shoved some washing in the machine not enough to put it on but at least I feel as though i am doing something.

Was on facebook earlier and had a chat with a OS'er who was surprised by political allegiance:D Its funny I can't imagine ever being in any other party than the one I am in. Funny how others view you isn't it?

Tomorrow I HAVE to sort out the cakes for next weeks cake meeting. Mark doesn't really care but i want to make something nice.

Anyway, I am annoying even myself-sorry! so will go.

I hate the bit between about 8 and 10.45. Even if we do well normally there are some surprises and you lose some good people. However maybe things will be different this time. I am friends with a few MP's so hopefully all will be good for them.

Have to wake Mark at midnight-although if things go badly he might well be woken by my howls of anguish!

    Sorry.

    Have a lovely evening.

    Cross everything crossable please.

  • Annie - I cast my vote earlier. For the first time ever!! Took DD along as well, she was very interested to know what it was all about. So all in all it proved to be quite a new experience for both of us!!

    Evening everyone

Have been MIA again, have read most days but not managed to post and felt a bit of a fraud as not much os has been done at home. I have been trying to finalise the rest of the wedding plans, along with house move, viewing schools and more. I feel like I am on a rollercoaster and want to get off.

Went to DS2 annual review at school last week and was very upset to find out that the results from the test last year on literacy and numeracy were incorrect and he hadn't made much progress at all, last year I tried to get him into an independant dyslexic school with specialised teachers and because he was shown as making progress it was refused:mad:. This year his literacy and numeracy levels have shown an increase of approx 2 months over the last 2 years(this is with the test being done correctly by a specialist teacher that comes in for 1 hour a week) this time. Anyway as I am now moving to a different LEA in September, there doesn't seem to be any point fighting the school again now. He is 10 this month and he is showing levels in literacy at 5 yrs 6 months. The specialist teacher has informed told me that he is definately dyslexic and possibly dysphraxic, but says he doesn't show the main systems of ADHD at school. I did ask the question if he could have been misdiagnosed but she was non commital really and just said in her experience he isn't off the wall with behaviour.

I have been to vote too this evening. I was also interested in each parties special need provision.

JackieO - Pleased to hear your good news.
Redruby - Hope you got your tooth sorted.
NPM ((Hugs)) to you, hope you get the assessment soon.
Lindy - Congratulations on becoming a great aunt.
Diva - Hope you are ok

Have made some Curried Lentil soup tonight, done a wash load and hung on maiden. Made a list of items to go on ebay this weekend, as it's free listing just need to do photo's. Don't seem to have enough hours a day at the moment.

Enjoy the rest of your evening. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care.

    Evening everyone

Had my DS and BIL here yesterday, as we went to see Peter Kay last night, sooooooo funny, was a bit worried he might do the same old, but no it was all new stuff and Rick Astley as support was pretty good too.

They stayed last night and am afraid to say the only OS today was cooking a big breakfast for OH and BIL, felt very flat after the went back home.

We did go out for tea tonight with OH's sis, was very nice.

Did my vote last week, when I found out we could get postal votes I was all for it, haven't the faintest idea where my local polling station is and OH is never sure he will be home so seemed like a good idea.

Had a phone call tonight from the local labour party, asking if I had voted, said yes, did it last week, he asked if I would tell him who I voted for, said no, its a secret :rotfl:

Not a lot to do here at the moment as we have both been home all week, place has never been so clean :D OH may have to go back to work early and work this weekend, if he does I will get on with my crochet squares, I got a book with 200 in and am working my way through them.....well so far have done 10 lol

JackieO, so glad to hear all was ok - 11 years now for my mum and although she has had some probs lately, none are related to her breast cancer.

((((hugs))) to those who need or want one xx

Annie....move away from those doughnuts now!! Surely you realise that it doesn't matter what happens in the election nothing will change for most people? Me, cynical, nooooo!

Csarina....would be livid if that had happened to me but agree that you shouldn't spend any more money on the house.

Lindy-lou....I am so jealous....I have only got 2 nephews, neither of whom have settled yet, so no great nieces or nephews and as they are now 33 and 30 I'm not holding my breath! Do have five grandchildren, but there seems to be a full stop in that department too!

JackieO...so pleased to hear your news.

We had the rest of yesterday's roast lamb with turnip and (hgrown) broccoli and mashed spuds. Had small slice of lemon cake with my tea afterwards....all very nice.

Its been cold to-day and rained this morning....we needed a new toilet seat for our bathroom so went this morning to buy one....also bought two wall-lights that we wanted for living room, lots of plants for window boxes and hanging baskets, they are first on list for to-morrow.

Watched a bit of tennis this evening, Jelena Jankovic is one of my favourite players and she beat Venus Williams only losing one game...so pleased. At some point I also had quite a long doze so did no knitting to-day....have duly slapped my own wrists.

Read most of the thread this morning so have now forgotten what I read...hugs to Ladygrim, PenPin, PenPen, Cranky and anyone else in need.

    Sleep well all

Marie have eaten a doughnut (very nice)and a kitKat:o(very needed)

I know what you mean but I do believe this is such an important election. Currently I feel sick(nothing to do with the chocolate) and am feeling very enotional. This is not helped by one of the pundits forecasting that a friend of mine may lose their seat.:(

Won't go into details on here as I have tried my best to not name "my" party. May go and vent on FB.

    Anyway, will report back later.

    Take care,

Do you have reasons for not naming your party? I for one would be interested to know which party gets you so enthused! And if our political views differ I'd still admire your passion!
