OS Daily Election day 6th May 10

Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for 6 may .It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning.
Hi everyone. Just a quickie from me as I am escaping all this election stuff and going fishing:D By the time polls open I shall be on the way to Newquay and then 7 miles out at sea with my tackle out and my rod over the side....
I will of course vote when I get back.... still undecided but it won't be Labour... Labour will come 4th here.
Work was a nightmare yesterday when i discovered that some dopey IT person at HQ deleted our fishing website when she was not supposed to.... trouble is they can't restore it. Hours of work gone.
The job I had planned got cancelled and no one told me until it was too late, so I took the rest of the day off and made doors for my polyhouse. Taco's for supper and bit of TV.
Well must get on, lunch to make and bait to get from the freezer....
Cheers. Lets hope the right party wins..
Stroppy JN9eav, is that the boat you have been working on that you raced yesterday? Nope just a rented dinghy, Mine is like this

Morning N9eav and all who follow/cross.
N9eav, thanks for the pic, looks a wee cracker, must be very therapeutic pottering around on the water.
Just passing the puter on way back to bed, didn't get in 'til midnight, then up at five to make limpy'r oops sorry GF packed lunch and nibbles for train journey to work.
Already voted by post, couldn't make my mind up til the ballot paper was in front of me, still have a nagging feeling that it wont make a jot of difference!
Still really damp and wet here and plus 5 this morning so quite chilly to, however my electric blanket is still on and is calling me back to bedwill pop back in later to catch up.
Have a good day everyone and tightlines N9eav.0 -
Morning N9eav and all to follow.
Like the boat N9eav. Unfortunately one look at a boat and I come over all queasy!
FANTASTIC NEWS JACKIEO hope you are feeling better (probably on top of the world at the moment).
Stripped my bed but it's looking a little showery here, will decide later whether to put it out or not before I go off to my boring training day.
Going to see Hairspray in Glasgow tonight with DD and friends so that gives me something to look forward to.
Take care all and have a good election day! It's finally here ANNIE, hope you enjoy it!!0 -
Morning Peeps
warm and clear here so atm it seems as if we shall have a nice day, hope so as i have gardening plans for later when i get home.
Yesterday i added compost to the 2 new raised beds and then sieved some other soil through the riddle so all i need to do now is add some soil improver from the compost bin and i`m ready:D
My back was killing me by the time that i`d finished but well worth the effort, all the soil has been re-dug and raked and i`ve built the climbing structure for the runner beans so all in all i`m very pleased. If the weather stays dry then i shall put the beans out, if it does get as cold as we are forecast and i lose them then its not too late to start some more off. If i leave them as they are now i won`t be able to seperate them as the roots will be tangled in each other.
I put the wm and dw on before i left the house so DH will empty those before he leaves, the bm had just finished so the house smelt lovely.
Kitchen man will be back tomorrow morning so i need to empty everything out of there again tonight. Nice quick and easy salad from the garden for tea later. I`ve not decided what to have with it yet but i`m sure that there will be something in the freezer.
JackieO - Lovely to hear the good news.
Have a good day everyone!

Morning All
Just a fleeting post from me today as off to an all day seminar for Road Transport Operators run by Essex CC. Was free and there is a free lunch (not why I am going lol) so there is an element of OS :rotfl:
Once home will be cooking dinner then off to vote.
Excellent news JackieO :j
Have a great day.x

Morning all,
Laptop wont start again , its going back to be fixed on monday, its less than a year old, so am not best pleased.
Jackie so pleased that you had good news :T:T, brilliant.
Annie, the day is finally here, enjoy it my lovely, I shall be voting later on xx
Off to work today, will have a quick swipe round before I go, and get a wash ready to put on when I get in later, it looks like we are due more rain
Sainsbugs deliving tonight, and dinner will be some hot and spicy scampi, which was on bogof in sainsbugs with chips and peas, dd will have veggie fingers.
I am back off to the dentist today to get this filling sorted, its funny how something so small can cause so much fuss, bits of it keep falling out where it is grinding on my other teeth, and my jaw is aching where I am holding my mouth incorrectly.
Ok better get on, lunch to make, have good days all xx0 -
Have a good day networking, Essexgirl!
Have paid my respects to Mrs Pankhurst & her colleagues by postal-voting, will be doing my civic duty by counting later. Have to admit that saying it always makes me think of Sesame Street - 1 - Ha, 2 - Ah ha, 3 - Ah ha ha, etc! :rotfl:
OS-iness will be dragging Dyson out of his cupboard & over the downstairs floors, then chasing dust bunnies upstairs.
Cherry toms, mozzarella, red onion & basil salad for lunch
Prawns & acovado for tea
I need to make up a tuck-box to keep me going tonight, and must remember to take an extra fleece to keep off the chill when we are waiting to declare in the early hours
Have a good day everyone, Floss
P.S. Those of you who have been following Mooloo's latest experiences may wish to know that she has currently got all 3 grandchildren with her, since yesterday evening0 -

Good Morning All.
Didn't get back to bed until well after 2am, but need to get a shift on today as have loads to do. Lots of it is stuff I could/should have done ages ago, so my own fault that it's all built up yet again. Intend to vote shortly, before driving into Cambridge to collect stuff I'd ordered. Then home to the paperwork I guess. Good thing is, by tomorrow evening it all has to be done and dusted!
N9eav - what a stupid IT person! very frustrating!
PenPin - hope today goes OK for you.
Essex-girl - enjoy the lunch (and hope the course is useful!)
(HUGS) to anyone who'd like one. have a good day, everyone.Resolution:
