No, I think you're right, and the way you put it makes sense - and maybe DD1 would accept it if I took DD2 up for teeth etc then brought her down again for a bit - it's just awkward if DD1 starts shouting down I guess. But there must be a way round it. We've gone from DD2 going down peacefully to her getting very upset as soon as you move towards bed so it's a matter of adjusting I guess, but it does make sense what you say about nappies etc. I don't find it stressful so much as I worry all the time that I'm doing the wrong thing iykwim. If I'm tired I'm tired and that's just having kids but if there's a way of creating time for myself without taking away from them...anyway. Best get their stuff ready for tomorrow. Taking a pillow for the train lol. Really really good luck for tomorrow
hope it goes well and even if it's not right for you hope it's a useful experience xx xx

we've found bedtimes go through stages where we seem to have evrything sussed for a while and then one child seems to move into a different stage and it all goes out of kilter and we have to feel our way into a new way of it happening that works. however I have found the most stressful thing to be to try and maintain the old way. dd2 may have lots of different reasons for resisting bedtime that she herself could never understand or explain. maybe she feels the need for a bit of extra time with just you and her, maybe she is just getting older and her bodyclock is changing a bit nd not as ready for sleep at normal bedtime, maybe she has picked up on any stress you have about OH being on nights and you needing to cope on your own and she is a bit unsettled by your stress and needs more cuddles. who knows why but its happening. maybe if DD1 is upset too you could bring down a duvet put on a mellow dvd have some hot chocolate and cuddle up on the sofa and then try bed again when they are more tired. maybe it could be something you say is ok when OH is away and you all need extra hugs. maybe once they are settled on sofa you can get on with some of the things you need to do. or maybe you could all cuddle up on your bed and have extra stories etc before settling down for bed. I don't know - it has to work for all of you but sometimes when you stop being scared that things are wrong or going to go wrong they become easier and maybe your kids will stay up a bit later for a while but maybe it can be a mellow happy relaxing special time where you can potter with your jobs too. Its hard with more than one child but sometimes now when my kids end up having late nights they get on much better than during the day and seem to bond even more making games together etc.

Eep, just counted up what i've made since 27th June.
From my second job i've made: £85.90 (next payday on Thurs)
Tips that I've managed to bank: £35
A cheque from MSing: £13
Paypal funds: £167
Saving put by from main job wages: 2 x £200 (from July & August pay) £400
So I've managed to save/make £700.90. Quite impressed. Trying to aim for another £300 by the end of the month so I can make it an even £1000. Doubt i'll be as lucky next month.
I'll probably make about £80 from my 2nd job being paid on Thursday but I've only got 1 shift this week which sucks but still an additional £30.0 -

Haha thanks Jo - just another drunken political rant! I should avoid the laptop after a couple of wines. I was told my job might not exist in the next couple of months but hey ho, one door closes...

Omg Nikki, that's great! Well done
- your total is amazing. Was it you that posted about the hair dye? xx
Jo, that sounds so lovely, but unfortunately my older ones get very giddy when they get overtired and they really do need to go to bed at seven for now - DD1 has to be prevented from napping through the day as she will stay up as late as ten reading to herself and playing and singing - which tbh I think is sweet but she's always knackered the next day and grumpy. Sometimes though she does just get so tired she falls asleep on the floor and we can't avoid the whole thing. But I think you're right about changes in DD2 and will talk to OH about bringing her down for a cuddle after the other two have gone down. I'll love it anywayxx

Jo Good luck for the interview tomorrow. I am sure you will do well.
Paula Hope you have a lovely time at the wedding.
Saucy you must be getting so excited
Skint Good luck with your meeting.
OH had his biopsy on his tongue on thursday and everything went well until he ate his tea. I did homemade soup thinking that would be easy for him but it was only one hour after he had it done and his tongue was still frozen, He bit down hard on a piece of bread and brought his stitches out. I sent him back to A&E as it started bleeding after a couple of hours. I thought they would have to restitch it but they said no it would heal on its own. He is fine now but having to eat slowly. Oh and his blood tests all came back normal so we are very pleased about that
Hugs to all
