Hi everyone
It's 14 days today! Exciting. I can't wait to have our own place...and a cat! I love cats.
Skint, that cake sounds amazing. Do you have any pictures? I'd love to have a cake with my old toys on. Not that I had any...but the idea of such a personalized cake is so lovely!
Jo, good luck for your interview, and tomorrow sounds lovely. Very relaxed!

Skint, love the idea of the cake with the teddies and doll, I would have loved something like that! Can't wait to see pics
Clay's been on hold although I'm dying to get it out - but there's been no point as it'd be sat there collecting tiny fibres from the air which make it look grubby. Got to drop all three kids off at my friend's tomorrow at 6.30am so I can get to this wedding, they'd best have a decent buffet on is all I'm saying after all the cost and effort we've gone to! I told my best mate from school (who's driving us from Hull) I'd be making an effort since they'd be taking photos. She said 'they'd best not bloody take photos!' - lolmy hair has gone darker - and I got my free hair dye through the post too, thanks whoever posted about that! DD2 is going through the screamy not-wanting-to-go-to-bed stage and the worst of it is that I'd dearly love to sit and cuddle her because she will just sit peacefully and cuddle up...but I can't...aargh lol.
Oh and I saw the woman who's up for neglect, and she's pregnant againhopefully this one will be taken straight to a good home though xx

Hi Paula, hope wedding goes well tomorrow and you have a fantastic day out.
Interview is tomorrow and feeling nervous but know if its meant to be it will be.
Is there a reason you can't cuddle up with DD2? you sound like you want to.

That's a good attitude to take, then you can just be yourself and if it wouldn't have fit anyway then you might have been unhappy. The cuddling thing, it just seems like I'm going to make the classic rod for my own back - she'll come to expect it and it will become more difficult to get her to bed as she'll want to be brought down every time...anyway I caved and brought her down for a cuddle, she's gone back down quietly now. It's getting more difficult as if DD1 is still awake she starts calling for attention and it ends up with me getting less than an hour of child-free time before I go to bed. OH is doing 8 nights in a row starting tonight so it's just me. Whinge whinge lol
I'd have her permanently attached to me if I didn't have to get stuff done, she's adorable xx

will have a look at that later Paula as just doing the bedtime stuff too. I don't find the rod for your own back thing happens that often to be honest. we don't say I'm not going o put my child in nappies cos he'll never want to go to the toilet on his own otherwise. or I'm not going to carry my baby or put her in a pushchair cos she'll never want to walk. kids go through phases and they don't go on for ever and it is possible that you could have the stressful bedtime but more me time and actually feel less relaxed and refreshed than having cuddly bedtimes and less me time. maybe having relaxing bedtimes is actually more inline with me time than the stressful ones. and maybe once she knows you will cuddle her if she needs it she won't have to keep trying to push you for it and she may move out of it quicker. sometimes bedtimes are actually quicker when we don't resist their resistance but go with it and even if they are as long or a bit longer they are happier and more relaxed all round. I know that won't be everyones view but it often works for us. so just adding my thoughts in too.
