ducks are doing well. still timid but braver than they were. they do like the rain and yes it has been rainy.
Really feel for your french boy and glad you broke the rules! He might be homesick but he's got a lovely host family to help him with it so he is lucky in that respect.

Mambury - veg sounds great. slugs have had a lot of ours but we will have leeks and purple sprouting broccoli and we have harvested our potatoes too. may be able to salvage some beetroot. hope tomorrow is less frustrating.

Thanks for those links Jo - I can relate to most of what she writes. She's irritatingly clear-minded, perceptive, insightful, knowledgable...
I wonder what her faults are..?!! I hope she can't cook

happy birthday Hales,
Hiya Cagneuk, glad to hear everything is fine.
hope everyone else happy today!
picked up the cake stand and they just loved the cakes! (you were right!) Looks as though i will be getting another order! Haven't made much money lately but getting orders a plenty for later on in the year. Trying to convince o/h a new kitchen is more important than a garage - i could make the cakes to pay for the garage. think i'm on a hiding to nothing though!
just watching Yound Dumb and Living off Mum, wanna slap the parents more than the kids!
Right off away to make cake decorations of make-up for cake for Saturday (round makeup bag with make up and a bottle of magners with sparkles and stars coming out of the top)
catch up later
edit: i cant believe these kids are so dense- man eating elephants with brains in their trunks?????????????skintbint x

Hey Skint, really glad they loved the cakes and might place another order.:j:j
I wouldn't know where to start with make up and bottle of magners but it sounds cool and fun.

Well done on the cakes Skint
Great that you're getting lots of orders through. You make cake-making look like fun but i bet it can be hard work. I love seeing all your creations - I still like the peeping sheep best so far

He's here for 2 weeks, he arrived on Tue. We also have 2 German students who arrived on Sun and are also here for 2 weeks. They were friends before they arrived and are both 16 though. They've been very good with the French lad as they speak a bit of French and so have taken the time to get to know him. It's hard for him though, he's only smiled once since he's been here and that was when he saw his sister this morning when i was dropping him at school - she's here with a different family and is only 12. Apparently she's been a bit home-sick too. Thinking about it, I might see if i can get them together for an evening or something. It's horrible to think they're having a bad time.Just £10,852.28p to go...
