As today is the last day of the giant jump I need you to start thinking how you are going to use the money you have saved this week to make a Hooray moment tomorrow - you dont have to use the money if you would rather save it or it is 'virtual' money saved by coupons etc as long as you have that hooray moment and tell us what it was :-)
Then I'm passing the baton to Nixi for next weeks Giant Jump-then Paula and then we need a couple more volunteers for the other 2 sundays :-)0 -
cheers mabel but my hooray moment will be adding that to my signature needs updating anyway ,main reason is if i take kids today to playgroup funday they will spend my takings anyway lol.
anyone know if i would get done for selling the obviously fake pandora bracelets at the market from ebay/china i really enjoy the jewellery thing but not crafty like others i am pure cold cash type of gal cant find any that dont say pandora on the catchSo finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x0 -
elly if you are selling stuff you have bought for sale you need to be registered self employed and make it clear you re a business on your stall at a car boot or else where to be within the rules. trading standards do tour car boots and look for people who are selling stuff that is not just their old household stuff. Its a risk then especially if you are selling fake stuff. even if its obviously fake. if it didn't say pandora on it and you had a sign saying Pandora style bracelets the that might be ok but ones that say pandora on could be very dodgy.
I'm no expert though.

Good idea Jo - thank you!
Hi Elly, sorry can'y help as I don't do car boots lol, Jo's advice makes sense though.
Thanks mabel - I am thinking about the giant jump......Jo everything I come up with is a version of one of yours though......so am trying to be more original!
xxLife is a work in progress0 -
Nixi, thanks
I can't get to a farm shop but am going to see what the market do, we've got two freezers as we inherited one so have plenty of space to store stuff if buying in bulk.
Think Jo's got the right idea about the odd man, at least then you could stop worrying about it as you'd found out what the police would actually do with the info.
I've fallen out with the friend who's got the gardenshe got guilt-tripped into taking a dog from someone which ended up mounting everything in sight and weeing on furniture etc; she's on her own with two little ones and no support from family etc; she passed it onto someone else after being entirely truthful about the dog's behaviour; this person is now begging her to take it back and her support worker (?) has phoned mt friend to ask the same thing; she now feels bad and is considering taking it back! She said she felt sorry for it being passed around, I was completely truthful and said if she couldn't cope with it three weeks ago how would she now? She got upset with me and now I feel really bad
but I don't think she should feel so responsible, OK she made a bad decision, but it doesn't have to wreck her life; she wasn't informed about the dog's behaviour, and it's dangerous for the kids imo; do you think I'm right? Sorry about the rant, it's just bothering me that I've upset her over this.
Mabel, the icicle jewellery is really lovely! Love the necklacexx

Morning! Looks like it is going to be a cracking day today, sun is shining, not a cloud to be seen, heaven!
Mabel - wow! Just had a look at the new bits and they are gorgeous!
Munchki - woohoo on the sewing machine bits! Can't wait to see what you make! Is it too early to put in an order? x ps. grab a book, take a walk/bus ride (easier on the knees!), find a nice little cafe, sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and life! Do you have a river near you? Geography is shocking, I don't know, lol! Nothing beats the quiet, a book and a sunny day....*sighs and dreams on the days when life was quiet*
Yukki - would you have a linky for the party bits? DD turns 1 in sept and LOVES her pip-pips (or whatever they are!)
Jo & Elly - I can completely sypathise with the lactose and reflux, DD1 was teribble with it, it took me nearly 10 months to suss out that she was only sick and up all night when I gave her something with milk in it, I used to give her a yoghurt with her breakfast and never sussed out the reason she wouldn't take a nap, only cry. Chocollate was the same. We went soya for 6 months and instantly she was happy. Docs said to wean her back onto it really slowly after that. 18 months later and she can eat yoghurts til they come out of her ears and no side effects, but she did love the Soya strawberry ones. Good luck with it all.
ps Jo, I think you are right about the early late thing, DD1 was early and was hospitalised by 10 days old due to reflux and catches everything going, DD2 was very late (was hiding from the midwife to avoid being induced) and she has had 1 cold in 8 months.
Nixi - hmmm.....I honestly don't know. Jumping to conclusions is wrong and could cause a lot of damage, but at the same time, I would probably err on the side of caution and phone the police, not to report him, but to ask their opinion. The worst that can happen is that they will investigate him, unless something sinister is dragged up, the chance are that no-one will ever know. The police do not go jumping the gun and steam in with an arrest unless they have a very good reason, and having pictures isn't. At the same time, I would be worried about what would happen if I didn't do anything, then a while later it was found out that he has done something that I could have prevented instead of ignored........I have issues with my concience, sorry!
Paula - wow, thankyou! That would be fab! How are your lessons going now btw? You must be nearly ready for your test. regards shopping local. Our local butchers is very good, however, money being tight, I do compare prices. Sausages are the one thing that I can't buy cheap and the butchers makes his own for less than tesco finest prices and they taste better too. Mince, mine is usually about £2/lb, so the same as normal tesco brand in price, but he grinds it in front of me, so there is no water added. Chickens, they taste better from the butcher, but they are double the price of Mr T, so I get that from the supermarket. Bacon is about the same, however, Mr T cuts it really thin so for the same weight you get twice as many slices. I can live with thin slices. Stewing beef & pork is much the same give or take 10p. Think the trend is cheaper cuts and it doesn't make much difference, but roasting joints and the more expensive things like chicken breasts (or diced from Mr T) are a lot cheaper from the supermarket. Essay, sorry, its something I have been experimenting with as a butcher is a dying breed and I try to put as much his way as I can without spending moreOn another note, have you looked into MS? I do it with the kids, it is a little harder with them there to concerntrate, but the extra could be your driving lesson pot to stop you having to cancel, just a thought, mine is my car fund
To all who do the wedding bits, my BIL is getting hitched in Oct, already had the invite through, but was wondering if anyone wanted me to pass on websites for them to have a nosey at?
Right, now I have spend half an hour typing this, I am off to get ready to go out and MS at the supermarket, I love it when they pay me for things I was going to buy anyway!turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -

Grrrr..... half an hour typing and I still have more to say! lol!
There is a market stall around here that sells fakes for £2 each or 3 for £5, I had a nosey yesterday. The thing is, if you sell them as Pandora, you will be in trouble, if you sell them as bracelet charms, no mention of Pandora, you are free to sell them by the bucket load. Fakes are what will get you in trouble. Do you know what they are made of and how deep is the writing etched? Best bet might be to run a bit of sand paper over them to get rid of it if it is not too deep. hthturn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -
thing is i have read the ebay forum on it and cant really get any idea was thinking about just buying black ribbon neclaces and leather wrist bands then setting up the stall same as alphabet beads and charging one price for necklace then per bead and that would keep me leagal .the self employed thing i dont mind hubby was for 5 yrs so this is not an issue .when i first started booting some guy was removed by police but kinross on a saturday has as many traders as bootsellers was thinking more of school fundays, christmas fairs , family ect as would make them up as presents to would save me a fortune that waySo finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x0

MummyandPaige, that was a really useful essay, thank you! I'm going to go and have a looksee later today
taking kids to sealife, then to a friend's - butcher's on way back so convenient! I do mystery shopping for one company but need to make the effort and find out who else I can do it with; I'm naughty and take the kids when I'm not actually supposed to, but it's never affected how well I've been served etc. There's a bloke in one shop who must have cottoned onto the fact I've been in there asking the same questions three times as he makes a beeline for me and gives fantastic service, it's getting a bit embarrassing now though! Yes I've got to improve my confidence (always lol) and be less hesitant at junctions and roundabouts, everything else is good
so excited! xx
