Just wanted to ask opinions on cars from the channel islands, Ford have good deals low mileage on holiday rental cars.. any opinions?

They should have low mileage because the islands aren't very big, they also have speed limits (40mph I think). I think they will be like buying an ex demo car and as long as they have the full remaining Ford warranty they should be ok. No different than buying any nearly new car with low mileage.
If there are good deals to be had then go for it.

Thanks again emmell .. I'm still looking I think I have seen slightly cheaper online here, and hopefully there will also be scope to haggle, whereas with ford online she wasn't going to budge at all,

But yes a few hundred miles, full warranty etc ..

If you're looking at "nearly new" then be aware that anything 6 months old with 10-14k on the clock is I'd say 99% of the time an ex hire car.

you sure as ive seen a fair few polos and golfs(that are polo/golf match) that are either just over a year old, a year old or just under a year old that have 10k mileage

    Hello

I am sure there are more than 2 pages, but they have vanished

Just thought i'd update. So far I have walked away from 3 dealerships.. yes 3 lol i'm getting quite good at saying no.

I have had a good look on autotrader and seen some great deals, just wondering opinions on Ford trade sellers or Ford franchises ?

Any tips on what I need to ask for/look for? Should I take an RAC/AA check even though there is lowish mileage <6k and manufacturers warranty left?

I had seen a great deal... its in Cardiff  won't be pursuing that one lol :rotfl:

    Thanks for any advice

Hi! Yes I had a look at a Polo match.. Good price actually but I didn't really like the shape. The Golf was waaaay out of my price range at the moment.

I do prefer the fiesta shape over the polo, and also like the idea of cheaper parts.

yes used golfs are pretty steep considering you could get a new 1 for the same price

I was looking at a new Fiesta but the more I think about it, the 13k for the new diesel seems excessive. Sure, there are some cheaper variants but I started looking at other motors.

The one which stands out at the moment is the Hyundai i10 in the mid range Comfort or top range Style specification. Without starting on a real negotiation, I can pick the Comfort up for around £7000 and I guess less with some haggling. With a 5 year warranty from new it is becoming a serious contender to my 3 year warranty Fiesta for a fraction of the price. Google i10 for reviews.
