Kate just ignore them. In fact go outside as often as you want and just keep a smile on your face.
Please dont stop your babies from playing in their own garden, just explain that next door are playing a game and that they must take no notice of them.
If she does stand out or look at you through the window just smile and give a slight nod of your head. Dont whatever you do show them you are upset over it or they will make your life hell,. If you show you dont care they will soon get fed up and leave you be.
Sad nasty people like that get their kicks how they can, and to see a lovely family enjoying life makes then jealous
I feel really sorry for you and your family, just carry on being nice they will soon take the hint.

She sounds mentally ill to me, so any olive branches or the usual friendly, neighbourly behaviour is likely to be pointless. I'd just resolve to completely ignore her and her behaviour. Histrionic attention-seekers hate being ignored.

thanks Chris. We are a nice family, my 7 year old is lovely. the baby is always happy - although a little loud at times! I'll take them outside tomorrow and see what happens - if she makes any comments - maybe i should go and see her.

    How about a hedge?

Within 2 years or so, your garden will be yours again.

In the mean time, why not put a kitchen radio by the back door and listen to that when your doing the washing, etc. to drown her misery out...

Ooooh she needs to live here.. my house backs on to a nursery with almost 200 children!! I get rid of mine and listen to them all day!

I'd wave cheerily every time I saw her spying.. and if she didn't stop I'd start poking out my tongue at her.. and might even resort to mooning lol..

Get those children out in the garden!!! It is your garden.. what is she going to do? Turn them into frogs?! Make a scarecrow that looks like her and stand it in your garden looking back at her!! Oooh I'd have a field day!

I want her to move next door to me lol.. we are fabulous.. 6 cats, 7 children plus the nursery! lol..

We had a vile old beast of a man living next door to us when we just had the 2 chidren.. he poisoned my son when he was 3 putting down pebbles laced with ant and weed killer.. we didn't know until the toxicology reports came back.. and he was made to remove every single pebble he had put down.

Anyway, he died a very lonely miserable old man.

Just ignore her, she obviously has mental health issues.. unless she starts doing anything physical here isn't really a great deal you can do..

I have students next door... I loathe students!!!

Bitter and twisted - my hubby says she has problems! She is in the house all day - she cleans for her elderly mother - who she told me she wishes she would die soon as this is too much for her! I was speechless. We don;t speak at all, after the last screaming rant - i've been trying to ignore her behaviour.

Its worth being nice to start with, she is maybe a little jealous if her family dont visit her and is taking it out on you.

Like i say, your concience will be clear, you tried, so then you have noting to blame yourself for. Miserable old !!!!!!. But its a shame that her life could be so much better. I feel a bit sorry for her. does that sound silly. lol
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

you say its the neighbours and talk about HER but you dont mention him.
the reason i say this is because my son and his partner moved into their house about five years ago and it was only when the girls started playing outside that the neighbours were funny with them - something like yours.
it got to a point where the neighbours complained that when the girls were playing on the trampoline they could see into the neighbours garden and kitchen.
my son and partner were really puzzled -then they were told that the neighbours husband was on the sex offenders register. they dont know if this is true - but it makes sense that the neighbours wife is trying to keep the kids at a distance. they even had the back path fenced off at their boundary even though its against all the rules of the estate, just because the girls were riding their bikes along the path!
dont want to frighten you hun, but either your neighbour has mental health problems or its something like I say above.
whichever - raise your fence and let your kids play in YOUR garden! dont let your awful neighbours rule your life or thiers!!!

I am afraid if she is like it with everyone then I wouldnt bother. Seems most of us have the same idea, use your garden and ignore them. Its their loss not yours. As for being loud all kids like to let off steam, dont stop them, why should you they are doing no harm. Lol maybe we should all come round for a bbq, now that would make her mad lol.
(I would give my all to have a nice family living next door to us instead of the dross we have at the min.)

    thanks i need that!

The OH doesnt speak or acknowledge us - never has - but he has told other people that they both hate children. She is the more vocal.

I think she does have problems, she never leaves the house, no ones visits (i was told by one of the old neighbours that she treated her own daughter terribly).
