I haven't received anything yet. They also refuse to answer any correspondence.

I have just entered my story about this on the BBCs Watchdog website. Can I suggest that everyone does the same. The subject may well then be aired on their show.

Claim denied because receipts weren't VAT receipts and have not replied to a letter dated 4th August threatening legal action. It's as if they hope i'll go away:mad:
  • So you sent receipts but not "VAT receipts" and were denied?! Can someone tell me how Ryanair are allowed to just ignore their legal responsibilities?

Unfortunately this is what we are dealing with: https://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/blog/2010/sep/10/michael-o-leary-ryanair-global-warming

I hope anyone shopping around for flights at the moment reads this. If you can, choose another airline!
  • Hi has anyone received compensation from ryanair due to volcanic disruption i had an e-mail from them on 6th July to say i would receive payment within 10 working days i have had nothing i habe spoke to trading standards who are representing me it looks like i will have to go to the small claims court
  • Posted an international recorded delivery letter stating legal action last month, and it still is "out for delivery in Eire" Posted another one two weeks later, just in case, and again, still "out for delivery". I suspect they are bumping their recorded delivery items.

Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.

They are avoiding everyone i think legal action is the only way
  • I do agree with a previous poster who suggested BBC Watchdog, or some other consumer type programme to bring it into the public eye. Like bullying, this type of thing shouldn't be kept in the dark with the bully taunting the victims, which is exactly what Michael O'leary is doing when he claims we shouldn't expect better service from a low cost airline. If the wings had fallen off the plane, would he be coming away with the same rubbish and telling everyone we ought to have flown BA instead?

Also some of his actions are clearly against the law and these should be highlighted by as many people as possible to interested public and private organisations.
    Just my thoughts.

Still no reply from Ryanair to my letter threatening legal action after they rejected our claim. Can we use the small claims court, as i'd read because they weren't based in the UK that small claims court wasn't an option. Would be really grateful if you could keep forum updated .
